Lack of new contract frustrating Brady?

08:10 AM ET 07.25 | Tom Brady will report to his 11th training camp as a New England Patriot this week in pursuit of many of the same goals he's had in the 10 years previous. The Patriots' franchise quarterback wants a new contract. Period. And he doesn't have one, which is a problem. At the very least, Brady seems to be frustrated by how this has played out.

Latrell Sprewell said he couldn't do it with $7M a year so I can't imagine how Brady did it. Maybe he borrowed money from Gisele.

I do grow weary of hearing millionaires complain about not making enough money. If your under contract just man up and do your job you little pissant.

With out the contract between the Players Union and the NFL, no franchise player should feel he is entitled to a contract.
Zip it Brady, you have the cash, think about all of the players and families that survive on the minimum.

Of course, the article contrasts the situation between Brady and Manning. Actually Tom has things to prove that Peyton doesn't. Manning is playing as well as he's ever played and got his team to the Super Bowl; Brady still has some work to show that he's fully recovered from his injury and his team was thoroughly dominated in the opening round of the playoffs.
Manning has the leverage to insist that he's the top paid (or close to the top paid) QB in the league. Brady is in an inferior position and might be asking to be paid for what he did in the past, not what he is doing now.

This is why they want new contracts. No CBA or any evidence of one in the near future, the possibility of a lockout in 2011........Get the money now, up front. Brady has never complained in the past, and has actually taken less than market value. This could be a big mistake by Pats mgmt. No new contract, lockout in 2011, Brady might just retire.....in a non-Bart way.

The owners were the ones who started this. They are to blame for the uncertainty. Hope it bites them in the behind.

That could be after any play now. Favre is just one missed block away from retirement.

Tom will not go homeless. He will get money. But he's not in the position that Manning is in to demand it, and he's lost a bit of his swagger.

Poor Baby!!! Apparently he thinks so highly of himself that all the money in the world isn't good enough for him. Poor darling! Maybe he should have to get a REAL job!
