Spurrier jabs Georgia after win

Steve Spurrier threw out a few quips and one startlingly honest barb the day after his South Carolina team beat Georgia, 16-12. "It wasn't like they were some big, powerful team," Spurrier said on his television show Sunday. "They've actually lost five in a row to Eastern Division opponents. Kentucky and Vandy beat 'em last year."

I want to know why Corso and Spurrier hate each other. The Clip of Corso saying SC could never beat these teams was funny. Corso was all Butthurt after that.

Stafford....You should have stayed in Texas. You will be lucky if you make it to the NFL.

i'm not a Spurrier fan, but he didn't say anything that wasn't true; the Dawgs could have played much better than they did.....Gamecocks' defense was pretty good too.

It's easy to talk trash once the game is over this guy is stii upset the gators wanted him to interview for the job

September 10, 2007  08:26 AM ET

There's no bite in those Dawgs anymore.

It's just tooo easy to hate Spurrier. A good offensive coach, a poor human being.

September 10, 2007  09:12 AM ET

Ol' Ball Coach is the best when it comes at stuff like this

September 10, 2007  09:12 AM ET

I thought Georgia was supposed to be one of the biggest , baddest teams in college football?! Arent they one of those teams that makes the SEC schedule BRUTAL??? How can any team survive after having to play Auburn , Georgia and Tennessee?? oh wait ,, just ask Cal and South Florida, they played SEC teams and lived to tell about it. Nice Job Georgia, losing to Ky and Vandy makes opponents fear you. Cant wait till you come to Tempe next year so Dennis Erickson and the Sun Devils can lay 50 on you.

"Now you look here you sorry sumbitch, you can't play keep away with old ballcoach's visor..give it back dammit!"

He is great! Love that guy!

September 10, 2007  09:55 AM ET

Honesty from a football coach. Niiiice. I'm surprised he didn't go one step further and say that Georgia is in for a long season. No way they beat Florida, unlikely they beat Tennessee, and as a UK fan, I think that game will be a tossup. I know no one wants to give UK credit, but they did thump Clemson in a bowl game to end last season, finish in the AP top 25, and return one of the top QB/WR combos in the nation. This could be the season that both UK and (obviously) SC both slip past Georgia in SEC standings.

(chuckle) Same ol' Ball Coach

September 10, 2007  10:26 AM ET

Burn.

September 10, 2007  10:28 AM ET

Hey lefty6. Georgia is usually a powerhouse in the SEC. Last year was the only negative season they have had since Richt came to Athens. And theres no way the Sun Devils are laying 50 on any SEC team.

September 10, 2007  10:29 AM ET

Andre Woodson, Rafael Little, Keenan Burton......They have some players on Offense........and MLB Micah Johnson and SS/LB Wesley Woodyard on D......I like it!

September 10, 2007  10:31 AM ET

Live the high life now Spurrier cause you sure won't be with LSU on the bill next week.

September 10, 2007  11:22 AM ET

you're right same ole ball coach.

no class.

true enough S. Carolina was the better team, they should be, they have a bunch of 5 year seniors and simply a more mature football team. they were the better team.
UGA has only 4 retunring starters from last year. give UGA some time they will be a power once again.

September 10, 2007  11:24 AM ET

lefty, the SEC was 5-1 in bowl games last year.

enough said.

pac 10? LMAO

September 10, 2007  11:26 AM ET

Stafford had a hoorible day and they still had a chance to tie it in the end.

drop pass on the goal line. Spurrier is forgetting they squeaked out o victory on a day when UGA played poorly.

he is an idiot.
