Colangelo lashes out at Bosh

08:09 AM ET 07.27 | When it came to a Monday radio interview, Bryan Colangelo "chose his words carefully," but didn't leave many bullets left in his pistol. Colangelo intoned that Bosh took a long time to return from injury even though he had been medically cleared and that he started thinking ahead to his future at the expense of the Raptors. "Despite limited swelling and any excessive damage on an MRI, he felt like he needed to sit for six more games ... I'm not even questioning Chris' injury. I'm telling you he was cleared to play subject to tolerance on his part, and the tolerance just apparently wasn't there and he chose not to play," Colangelo said. ... Colangelo went on to elaborate: "Whether he was mentally checked out or just wasn't quite into it down the stretch, he wasn't the same guy. I think everybody saw that, but no one wanted to acknowledge it."

The Raptors routinely recruit quitters. Vince Carter, Bosh, Hedo. Go after some guys with heart, I heard T-Mac is available. (sArKaZm)

I think Bosh, Wade and Lebron all knew they where going to play with each other next year. I think Wade was the only one that played the hardest because he knew he wasn't leaving Miami. Now Bosh checked out early last season, thats a givin. Lebron checked out last year by not committing to a longer term and checking out during the playoffs. This plan was thought out for prob a while now. I don't think Riley is the master mind behind it, if he didn't have Wade non of this would have happened. Too much credit giving to Riley

Delonte didn't like the idea of his step son playing in a different country. He had a talk with his mother and they both agreed its best Lebron stays home. That was communicated to Colangelo who understood the importance of father/son relationship.

The root cause of these players quitting and demanding trades is 'guaranteed contracts'. I can only hope the NBA totally gets rid of that in their next CBA. There should be an incentive based system so players don't quit to hurt the competetive spirit of the game or just demand a trade or have incentive not to play their best. You also eliminate the possibility of ever having the Eddy Curry types in the league.

I listened to this interview on the radio, they were asking if they thought Bosh quit at the all-star break...BC disagreed but admitted he did quit at some point. Why would BC try to resign someone he feels is quiting on the team.
That being said, I am really looking forward to seeing this season unfold, something I wasn't lookinf forward to for a while. I like Bosh gone, I agree the team seems more ballanced now. As a Raps fan, at least you get to see a new team every year!
And ya, I was hoping Calderon would ship, hopefully he takes this as a wake-up call...

All sports should be a base, which is consistent across the board with a contractually agreed upon set of performance / results based rewards for the individual and the team. That way you always have a player playing hard and trying to improve because that would be directly tied to what they earned for the year. The team rewards would be based on playoff series won all the way through the Championship, with increasing bonuses with each step taken upward to the coveted ring. You could do that in every sport and that would also allow the NFL to give guaranteed money as well as the base would be commensurate with the salary structure of that league.
no-brainer

If they get the raw deal like Lebron did to his own people these GM's and owners have feelings too... only that some are more emotional than others... I'm all about being allowed to express how you feel. The way them three cats went about executing a plan they hashed years ago and led the whole nation on is wrong on many levels. You don't even play chicks like that...
