Injured Michigan quarterback Chad Henne will not play against Notre Dame. Wolverines coach Lloyd Carr did not provide a timetable for Henne's return, listing him Monday as week-to-week. The senior was knocked out during the second half of a 39-7 loss to Oregon. Freshman Ryan Mallett will start against the Irish in a matchup of storied teams with 0-2 records. It's also a matchup of true freshman quarterbacks as Notre Dame will start Jimmy Clausen.

Why is Henne's injury not disclosed? I heard he hurt is pride and is being punished after giving up on Saturday. I agree if that is the case, Henne is nothing but a mediocre quarterback and will never make it in the pros. The Notre Dame game is going to be pitiful to watch and I hope it is not televised in favor of a more deserving match-up. I say keep the losers off the tube until you can prove you are a Big Ten Team, what an embarrassment they have been so far. I really hope you turn it around before the Buckeyes smack them in the Big House in November

100,000+ on suicide watch at the Big House.

September 11, 2007  11:52 AM ET

Memo to Mike Hart, know who your starting QB is before making such bold predictions. I hope the domers kick your sorry butts all over the big house!!!

Michigan Athletic Policy stipulates they do not publicly comment on injuries...Penn St. also has similar policy.

September 11, 2007  12:24 PM ET

For the record once again. Since ND has thier own TV contract and they are on TV every week( I think with ABC, but I could be mistaken).

September 11, 2007  12:57 PM ET

ND's contract is with NBC...you remember NBC? They used to televise sports?

September 11, 2007  01:31 PM ET

QB and the offense isnt what is killing MI...its that horrible defense...dear lord can they make a stop???

I'm a buckeye fan and hope these guys get it on track quick so they can climb back into the rankings and then get smoked at then end of the season!

September 11, 2007  02:41 PM ET

Mallett is going to pound the Irish.

I hope you guys get the pun.

September 11, 2007  03:05 PM ET

"This is the end, my only friend, the end.
Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end

Antonio: Irish#1 is out lighting candles, saying Hail Mary's and caressing a whole lot of rosary beads. After those beatings he has gone into hiding.

I'm still here. His team is going to be 0-3 by about 7 O'clock Eastern time Saturday evening.

September 11, 2007  04:22 PM ET

Here I am. The Irish will beat Michigan. If the running game needed any opponent to kick them into shape, then Michigan is the team. Also, this is a game of the future. Both of these guys (Mallett & Clausen) will dominate college football. I can't wait til 3:30. Win or lose, I can never wait until game day. The Irish will win 17-10.
