What the hell do academics have to do with how these guys play football?

July 31, 2010  12:20 PM ET

Wow, if its not academics, its something with the law. Why do college kids always look for trouble? God, I hope I never become that way when I go to college.(:

Academic attrition hits most everyone. The 'Horns lost a damn good DL to grades this year. I don't know how bad the loss of these two guys hurts Miami. Maybe EWO or svt can enlighten us.

wesley.. not really, just lose some depth

collier.. ehhh, he came through at times.. kinda lazy though.. the problem is i dont think its academics (have to confirm something before i post it, and no he didnt get arrested).. also his son died earlier this year, so i do not like this move at all..

How do you know he is lazy? gtfoh. The U will miss both players.

good thing kendal thompkins told randy to pound salt when he was trying to switch him to cb.

July 31, 2010  03:04 PM ET

this might not be a done deal yet for collier..

Are these kids starters? Shannon has been getting a lot of props for recruiting locally like Collier. But this may be a by-product....is Booker T. Washington a good college-prep High School?

Word of advice, FNG. Never question svt when it comes to the 'Canes. Never.

If he says the 'Canes will wear pink uniforms this year, you can bet your last dollar that they'll be sporting pink.

Their marks were too high and were making everyone else look bad.

I would agree, not that it really matters, with this wholeheartedly.

Ditto. svt has a pipeline of info on the 'Canes and many other Florida schools. He's days ahead the mainstream media. Actually, it wouldn't surprise me if the "unnamed" source that ESPN and SI reporters quote was svt.

wesley has started 17 games the past 2 years and is definitely gone per the Miami Herald, they also say collier is dealing with family issues and his problem is not academics...

Receivers are crazy deep and with Wesley leaving that opens the door for Dye to show his stuff after being hurt last year !

After the Buckeyes beat the EWWW, the title to this thread will be, "Shannon on way out of Miami?".

They can always go to a school in the SEC. They'll take em. Academics is a distant second to football. Why would any serious student athlete would want to go there is beyond me.
