09:35 AM ET 07.31 | Pat White's training camp is over, his season in jeopardy. According to a league source, the Dolphins backup quarterback could miss the entire regular season with a non-football related issue that is described as serious. At minimum, White will be placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list after sitting out Friday's opening practice of training camp. The Dolphins will have a chance to reassess White's situation before the season opener on Sept. 12 in Buffalo, but it's possible he will spend the first six weeks of the season on the non-football injury list.

Releasing last year's second round pick?!?!? If that happens, the entire scouting department should be fired!

I heard the Cowboys were willing to give them Roy Williams. That was after they decided that pocket lint, .37 in spare change, and a bag of rotten fruit were too much.

"...a non-football related issue..."?

You know we haven't heard the last of this, folks. I can't wait to hear that one explained.

I hope he gets his personal issues in order, but it was a bad draft pick from the beginning. 5-7 round? maybe. but 2nd round. dumb then, dumb now.

Yet another outstanding value brought to the NFL from that wonderful institution of higher learning that is called WVU.

Never understood that pick myself. That one and Ted Ginn Jr.

Pat White did great last year, but if he got into any trouble with the law, then he should not be playing. Lay down the law, Goodell!(:

Most likely another "crazy girlfriend with a weapon" problem.

Same here. Better be something good, or at least legit

He's at practice today and not on PUP. Time to update this story?

Doesn't matter. He is number three behind Thigpen anyways and still has personal issues. His brother has stated such.
He was a non factor last year, a disappointment if you would and he left the last game on a stretcher with another serious concussion. That is two in two years ( CFA/NFL).
I do not think the Dolphins expect much from him anyways.
On the 49 snaps White took last season, the Dolphins gained just 133 combined yards (2.7 average).

"Pat White's training camp is over"

Uh - it isn't. As I said, time to update the story.

"Pat was just dealing with some ?? we were dealing with some personal health issues with him that we wanted to get checked out," Sparano said Saturday afternoon. "We did. We were all satisfied and had him back out on the field today. Everything's good, and he's ready to go."

When pressed for details, Sparano said "it's not an injury" that caused White to sit out Friday's practice. He added the team still viewed White as "strictly a quarterback" and planned to put White into all the usual camp activities, including a full-contact scrimmage on Aug. 7.

"Absolutely, yes," Sparano said. "One hundred percent."

However, Sparano would not divulge any recent conversations he may have had with White regarding his desire to play.

"I'm not going to get into what I talk about with my players, first of all," Sparano said, "but Pat White is out here, ready to go , full to go."

His head waasn't on straight - he was very stressed and didn't know which way to turn. He just needs to talk.
As far as the 2nd rd pick is concerened - STUPID pick!

True, but it does not matter. Sporano also stated that he is being considered ONLY as a QB. He looks to be the fourth in line as a QB.
I doubt the Dolphins are loosing any sleep over it either way.

Pat White's next training camp will be in the CFL

July 31, 2010  03:44 PM ET

He obviously has something going on not related to football. Perhaps some other medical concerns or issues in his personal life that took him out of the game. Those sort of things happen to people every day NFL players are not exempt from having non-football related medical issues or personal issues just like the rest of us. I wish him the best.

I can see it. Or out of football. When your brother answers for you and all he will say is " He is in a happy place now," your NFL days are numbered.
