Browns may start Quinn on Sunday

Browns coach Romeo Crennel didn't rule out the possibility that rookie quarterback Brady Quinn would start Sunday's home game against the Bengals. Ken Dorsey, Quinn's mentor until he was released Sept. 1, was at Browns headquarters Monday evening and that lends credence to the theory that he is being brought back to help get Quinn ready.

He will do better than Alex Smith in his first season.....

September 12, 2007  07:47 AM ET

Well, we now know Frye is in Seattle so there is the roster space. Dorsey will be re-signed to mentor Brady....wait, wait, WAIT!!!!! Isn't this what pre-season is supposed to help a team decide??? WTF!!!!! Who exactly is steering this ship anyway? One game and our "starting" QB is sent to another team, the QB we released may/probably will be back by days end, we don't know what to do with Brady and the QB that took our previous starting QB spot doesn't appear to be any better than the guy we just sent to Seattle. And we Browns fans get to sit here and watch this three ring circus, this keystone cops example of how a NFL team is supposed to be run and coached! This is priceless, I use to sit and hope that we would get better, it is so comical now I sit and wonder what cluster F*(k this front office and coaching staff can come up with next. Way to go Browns, you have sealed your place this year in the record books for being the most clueless unorganized organization in all of the NFL's history...what's next, a secret packing up of the teams equipment and a move to another city?? NO, that won't happen because no other city would probably want you morons. MAN is it hard to continue to pull for these idiots!!!

September 12, 2007  07:54 AM ET

I said Quinn should have started from the start and I was ridiculed...

Simmer down Tribe13, things can only get better! Quinn will be solid and you can move on and continue building from there.

September 12, 2007  07:56 AM ET

Well, this is all good news if you're a Cowboys fan, they hold the Brown's 1st round pick next year.

September 12, 2007  08:05 AM ET

Sorry Jazinho BS...I just can't believe this crap happens in the NFL these days. Especially to the team I have painstakenly pulled for the last 35 years. As for the all you Cowboy fans...we know you are happy about next years #1 pick. You can stop throwing that in. Honestly we don't care if you have the next 3 years first picks as long as Brady proves it was worth it and I truly believe he will be. You may not think so but I do. As soon as we get a real coaching staff and we give our front office a lobotomy we'll be just fine.

September 12, 2007  08:13 AM ET

Lobotomy.............LOL

September 12, 2007  08:38 AM ET

The Browns should have traded Romeo Crennel to the Seahawks.. The only reason Charlie was traded after week one was to save his own behind.. Romeo must go he is dare I say it, worse than Butch Davis... Cowher to Cleveland in 08...

Oh, quit the drama-queen act, DO_WORK_SON. It's a rumor site - Everett's story is news...so much so that it was on the front page of CNN.com this morning, as well as a link in the main story list on SI.com. We're all happy for Everett's new prognosis. But since when does that have to be the only thing we discuss?

September 12, 2007  08:43 AM ET

Did you watch the game on Sunday, bucknut? While Crennel certainly deserves his share of the blame, you can't make it seem like Frye should be absolved. He was a joke, and I'm glad the Browns cut their losses with that kid and moved on.

September 12, 2007  08:44 AM ET

Do work son-this site is based almost 100% on conjecture and opinion, you know that as well as I do. Everett moving his legs is NEWS, and as such, it doesn't really have a place here. Perhaps you could ease up a little bit...

And Tribe 13, welcome to Crennel bros, Browns and Brady circus...on with the show!!!

September 12, 2007  08:44 AM ET

DO_WORK_SON...what are we supposed to do, stop all other articles because of Everetts injury? I feel for the guy but that injury is possible on every play of every game not only in the NFL but college, high school, junior high and bunch of kids rough housing in the backyard. Everyone is aware of the dangers of playing this sport. If you are so into his plight and possible paralyzation for life then take up a collection, start a charity or something but don't slam Fannation for continuing to post articles about football and the rest of us for commenting on those articles.

Thanks AGENTORANGE...it is nice to be welcomed into such a wonderful spectacle of hilarity.

September 12, 2007  08:48 AM ET

Romeo looked as lost as the Browns offensive line did, 6 sacks, ok lets blame those all on Charlie..

September 12, 2007  08:53 AM ET

bring on the rookie, Geathers needs to be fed.

September 12, 2007  08:53 AM ET

All I know is that Cowboy fans should be very happy, because I see the number one pick in their future.

I still cannot believe the Browns dealt next year's number one to the Cowboys to draft Quinn.

I hope the owner fires Phil Savage before he fires Romeo Crennel.

September 12, 2007  08:55 AM ET

Crennel is doing whatever he can to save his job. Unfortunately, Quinn is going to be an average QB. Crennel will be a Patriot next year!

September 12, 2007  08:55 AM ET

Savage and Romeo needed to be canned yesterday..

September 12, 2007  08:56 AM ET

No, only 4 out of the 5 were his fault. Again, did you watch the game? And who cares how Crennel LOOKED on the sidelines? What is this, a fashion show? Unless you were watching Crennel and only Crennel for three hours, how can you tell what he was doing beyond what the TV cameras showed?

September 12, 2007  08:58 AM ET

I don't blame this on Charlie alone, it is the coaching staff and their inability to lead the team. Flipping coins to determine the starting QB? Releasing one QB that would be good to keep to teach our rookie. Then taking out our starting QB before halftime of the season opener, replace him with another QB and before Wednesday trading the original starting QB? I mean, does it get anymore comical than this? I can say all of this because I am a Browns fan, they're a joke. We have talent, somewhere, we just need someone to determine where that talent is, lead them once they are found and in the process give us fans something to look at when the season is over and say "Well, we're getting better." This coaching staff has done NOTHING to improve from last year and it is time to find a group of coaches that can....I have an idea...I have a video camera, maybe I can do a quick tutorial with the Patriots, get hired by the Browns and by seasons end we could be an 8-8 team!
