Sources: Shaq talked to Euro teams

09:19 AM ET 08.01 | For some reason, earning more than $200 million in his career is not enough for Shaquille O'Neal and he's been chasing one more big paycheck instead of a fifth ring. Sources have indicated he's even tested the market in Europe trying to land one last $10 million payday. But all of that is unlikely. Indeed, the Cavs may consider re-signing Shaq to a short deal that would pay him $5 million-$7 million and wait for a desperate contender looking down the road at the Lakers or Magic.

Nobody wants him, because his ego is bigger than his gut! And his gut is huge!

Shaq is through!!! Move on Shaq! You made your money over the years and you were good for many years. But now you scare no one! Retire and move on!!!

Why the Magic??? They won't be there when it counts!

Shaq talking ish to a whole new crop of basketball players? Now that would be something. Since we've grown tired of him maybe the Europeans can learn to 'enjoy' him too. As long as they can understand what he's saying.

Stupid idea though. Why he wouldn't want to learn to behave and understand his spot with a chance for another NBA championship is beyond me, but then again --> It's Shaq!!

I'm from the uk, and I'm already sick of him, for his antics in NBA. The whole of Europe watch nab more than their own euro leagues! His ego would not go down well over here!
He needs to grow up, and realize he is no longer the man, and hasn't been for a long time!

All kidding aside. There's still SOME value in signing Shaq. I don't think he's worth $5.8mm but BOS is so over the luxury cap are they even counting anymore?...LOL

August 1, 2010  10:12 AM ET

He's worth more than the veterans minimum. Shaq still has enough left to help a number of teams, but nobody is going to pay what he's asking for 15-17 minutes a game.

Boston should sign Shaq. He handles Superman in Orlando and who does Miami have in the middle that can play with him? No one. The Heat will fall on its face and all will be right with the world when the Lakers take their third straight title.

Go back to your $1/day job, Shaq. YOU ARE DONE!

August 1, 2010  11:11 AM ET

$200M lifetime earnings, prolly was cut to half with the divorce. Plus he lost like 30-40M with his stupid mansion in Miami, and in Atlanta. He prolly spent the rest on buffets.
The man needs to put food on the table, bro.

What top team, that he hasn't burned bridges with needs an older back up center? Denver? Chicago? Okc?Other than those 3....there is no 'contender'.....which means if you sign him, its a publicity stunt, and at this stage, he doesn't have the drawing power he had.....so its pointless, unless he comes for a vet minimum ONE year deal

i agree....and i wouldnt want him to go the okc, durant is young and shaq will try to run over him..., the nuggets do to much running for him to actually stay on the floor... Chicago dont want him. and he thinks he is to good for a vet deal....

boston would happily take him for 1.3 mil a year the vet min....otherwise he can get gone

unless shaq realizes he is nothing but a bench center and he can no longer dominate the game then he has value otherwise he can stay with the cavs who are no longer a contender

Boston? You want them to get older? They Just signed JOAnd what good would he be vs.Miami? You said it yourself, Miami has no c to match up with.....Boston needs YOUNG legs to defend all Miami's wing players

exactly ...and the celtics had no problem handling howard so we dont need him at all for that
