Reed accuses Steelers of lying

10:40 AM ET 08.01 | Jeff Reed will have to wait at least another year before possibly signing a long-term contract that would keep him with the Steelers until his career is over. And he is not happy about it. Reed believes he was misled by unspecified members of the organization about their intention of wanting to sign him to a multi-year deal. "I'm not going to point anyone out or any statement out, but, yeah, I was told one thing and another thing happened," Reed said Saturday after practice at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe. "I understand business moves, but I'm not a big fan of lying."

It could be worse... Tom Brady's contract and Favre-watch 2010 come to mind.

Now we know where Ben learned to tell the truth.

At least he's not blowing all his money on hair stylists.

Jeff: You do realize that you're a kicker, right?

August 1, 2010  12:48 PM ET

You would think he would want to keep a lower profile. I know it has been a while since his last drunken escapade with the law and paper dispensers and disorderly conducts in public, but really.
Solid kicker? Yes. But only one 50-plus-yarder in the last three years in five tries.
I don't think this is a good time to get in to it with the Rooneys. They have had their fill of PR problems. Just go kick, and take it from there.

And I'm sure publicly calling your boss a liar in no uncertain terms is going to motivate him to give you a billion dollars you can 'keek tuchdoan'.

Go to work tomorrow and call your boss a liar in front of the entire office. Do that Monday...I guarantee you your Tuesday schedule will suddenly open up.

OUCH!!! LOL!

Hey cut him some slack, he may not even be a millionaire yet. However he might only play 3 or four minutes a week, and probably doesn't bust a hump in practice either.

You're right, he's good, but not good enough to not be expendable. It's a bad time to critisize the Rooneys.

That girl wanted it. I don't get why she didn't get in trouble because she was a minor in a club drinking. Seems like there is a double standard here...

Really stretching there. Little Ben was not charged, yet the minor should be?

Probably because rape is a little more severe than underage drinking.
