10:49 AM ET 08.01 | The Arizona State football team's biggest unknown entering Wednesday's first day of camp isn't much of a surprise. The Sun Devils still don't have a starter at quarterback. Coach Dennis Erickson, in his fourth season, insists he isn't worried. Junior Steven Threet and sophomore Brock Osweiler showed flashes in the spring, just not enough for Erickson to end the competition.

It's year 4. Ya know what that means. Most likely a top 25 finish from Arizona State. It usually takes 3 or 4 years for the "drama" that follows Dennis Erickson to his programs. You know, paid players. Convicts. Stuff like that. I see ASU winning the Pac-10 to be honest. Threet will get the start because he's more mobile.

Dennis looks unhappy. Nothing a few stiff drinks and a few NCAA violations couldn't fix, though.

Post 3. Steven Threet? The same Steven "two left feet" Threet of scUm transfer? Well, maybe Erickson can make him look better than Fraudriguez did, but he looked puny and undecisive in the yellow and blue of TSUN.

Papa Rocks.... Had to be tuff playing in a new system.. with OL who couldn't block... and WR's who didn't run their routes... Beat a top 15 Wisconsin team with a 20 pt comeback as a Freshman. Two left feet? I disagree. He should have been running an offense that requires a drop back passer. NOT Patrick White. I would say Threet can put up some numbers given the chance and the protection. Along with a system that doesn't try to make him something he clearly is not. Threet will take the competition based on being a more complete player. Look for Threet to put up numbers like Ryan Mallet in Arkansas last year. Especially with a weak pac 10 defense to play against every week.

Yup, kinda sucks for ASU football right now. Too bad too b/c they really need to find a way to win sometime soon. Erickson needs to get this program on the right track here. Positive thoughts though, positive thoughts.
