Kaberle can't seem to catch a headline in Toronto

08:18 AM ET 08.02 | By Maple Leafs standards, the Tomas Kaberle trade-him-or-not storyline is one being met with a relative shrug. Only two Maple Leafs defensemen have played more games than Kaberle has in Toronto, and yet, as the deadline regarding his tradeable status approaches, the emotion attached to his future is underwhelming. After 11 seasons, Kaberle has left fans to shrug: He is neither loved nor hated. He is just there, with all those skills, all that size, all that promise, and yes, all that disappointment. Tim Horton and Borje Salming are the only Leafs to have played more on defense in the history of the club, and one is remembered as much for his coffee as his Hall of Fame hockey, while Salming remains a Leafs legend as few will ever be. But for whatever reason, through the best and worst times, there has never been a fan attraction to Kaberle.

Kaberle can't seem to catch a headline in To***to.

Am I missing something? Two days in a row we have Kaberle threads from the To***to Sun and he can't catch a headline? Somebody's stupider than I thought.

That's not the kind of ink he has in mind. He needs to come to T&R. At least he'll have some laughs ... at his expense, of course.

How is this a suprise? The fans and media ignore bad teams. Especially, ones that have been bad for a while. Who can even tell me the name of the best player on the Pitsburgh Pirates?

The To***to fans and media don't ignore the Leafs, far from it. 43 years without a Cup, no playoffs since the lockout and they still can't get enough of them, for reasons only they understand.

Honus Wagner! LMFAO! Good one, Dragon. I had Roberto Clemente in mind when I saw the question. Your pick trumps mine.

Maybe. In any case, the morons at FN haven't picked up on that yet. And I miss hearing about grandpa's retirement/un-retirement soap opera about as much as I miss having a root canal procedure done without anesthesia by a kid fresh off dental school.

They were also the first team to use the black and gold so readily identifiable with Pittsburgh sports teams
