07:55 AM ET 08.03 | The Hawks re-signing of free-agent center Jason Collins to a one-year contract means at least the following: Atlanta thinks Collins will be more effective in 2010-11 because he will be in better shape. Word is he's already lost a significant amount of weight. Also, Hawks owner Michael Gearon Jr. is on record as saying ... he didn't think Collins was properly utilized by Woody. So maybe Larry Drew gets Collins gets more minutes.

He should help Curry out maybe it will help him become more of a useful Bum, as if bums were anything but useless.

Never was a fan of the "Twin" - Nothing more than 6 fouls to offer from this big man aside from clogging the middle a bit.

It's nice to be a seven footer.........Make a couple of million a year to work 8 to 12 minutes a night.......

Collins is making a living as a journeyman type player. He is not the center of a championship caliber team.....

Collins was utilized just fine last year (for someone who scored less than a point a game and shot 35%)

How does a 7 footer shoot 35% ?

Often times Teams will have guys on the Roster - not so much for what they do in the game, but b/c they are good for the team in practice...

I think Jason fits into that category.

Atlanta is grasping at straws. Collins has been in the league 10 years. If he had anything, we would have seen it by now. And the owner doesn't think he was used properly. LOL! I have a suggestion; call me.

how do you properly use an unathletic center with no offensive game? you put him on the floor and say use your fouls big fella and that's about all there is to it

August 3, 2010  02:46 PM ET

we need a rule change here, people. if dad dropped one load and the egg split, then these guys should be a package deal. that's right, six players on the court... i said it.

'jason&jarron, you're in for zaza'.
