News on Gary Matthews Jr.'s ankle injury was encouraging Wednesday, but there remains a concern that the Angels' center fielder won't be ready by the time the playoffs start the first week of October.

While I think he is very overrated(actually he is), the Angels still kinda need him. He provides more pop in the line-up that they could really use and his defense is fantastic out in center. Could be a big loss, depending on how long he is out.

That'd be a nice blow to the Angels.

He will just pop a can of HGH and he will defy the laws of age again. In case anyone is wondering no one has a break out year after 30 and he was linked to HGH.

His ankle was hurting, but those mystery pills and creams from the anti-aging clinic took care of it...

The Angels and Matthews Jr were heard saying..."that stuff worked so well for the ankle recovery, it should be illegal!"

He'll dog it out, you watch.

The best thing Gary brings to the angels is his excellent glove.. hes a definite gold glove candidate.. But the Angels are so deep, and GA and Guerrero are coming on so strong right now, i dont think it matters..

It leaves a spot open for Kendry morales as well. Figgie can play in the outfield.

Cant wait till the playoffs!

Angels wont miss him. They still will roll over the Yanks in the ALDS and have a good shot vs Boston in the ALCS.

Dang. Shoulda used my HGH joke earlier. Well played, lastchoice.

He will be alright. Plus, the Angels depth will help.
