08:07 AM ET 08.05 | No word on whether Shaq may at some point be called "Chris" by a show host. Wednesday night via Twitter the newest Boston Celtic, Shaquille O'Neal, challenged radio talk show host Jim Rome to a fight. ... [It's] hard not to think it didn't sting when the ESPN host claimed that Shaq wasn't as professional and as committed to his body as a former Laker teammate. "You never approached the game with the dedication and discipline of Kobe Bryant," Rome said. "Jim Rome, I am happy with my career and the legacy that I have left behind, obviously u r not happy wit yur legacy I 4got u have no legacy," Shaq retorted. Soon after he invited Rome to the fight. "And forget the back and forth jim rome, I challenge u to a boxing match, live at espn studios, show the world if u can bak up the tuff talk."

AND you have to remember he trained with Freddie Roach for Shaq Versus when he boxed Oscar De La Hoya.

ESPN will have no trouble promoting this. At least there will be more action than the Lebron fiasco <yawn>. Maybe the Miami Trio can walk around the ring in between rounds holding up the cards for the round number.

Rome doesn't have to fight Shaq. The truth hurts. When he came out of LSU, he had the potential to become one of the greatest NBA players of all time and then he just stopped working on his game and his body. He was not driven to be the best and the fact that he was chided by Pat Riley about conditioning is proof.

But he was in the movie Kazaam back in the 90's. Doesn't that count? LOL.

It's hard to believe Shaq graduated high school much less wasted two years in college. He writes like a 5th grader. If he wasn't 7 foot tall he has the intelligence and work ethic to be on food stamps his whole life.

It's easy for Shaq to call out a man half his size, harder to disprove what Jim Rome is saying. Bottom line is Rome does have a point.

What a shock, the fat bloated bully can't take criticism and now wants to fight someone he obviously would mop the floor with. Shaq, you're a grown a*s man, quit the kids games. He told the truth, you ate and poorly-conditioned your way out of L.A. and they were right for not signing your fat butt to long-term extension. Imagine them paying you 30 million a year for what you're doing right now?
Kobe won without you, get over it. Wade won in spite of you, get over it. You're on a one-way train to the island of irrelevant. And to think I have to actually root for you this year because I don't want the Miami Heat (a.k.a Two and Half Men) to win.

I am SO tired of Rome and his super Laker fanboy act. Whenever he talks about them, he does not even try to be the least bit neutral. It's one thing if it's a local channel another if this a national network.
That said, Shaq comes off as a bit of an idiot here.

please do this Shaq. Rome is a little napoliean. All mouth and no action. He is the worst host on the air. he is a mouth that roars and should not talk about Shaq . He may not be my favorite player but he has been a great player. Kick his ass Shaq.

Its on twitter you only have so many characters you can use. Shaq comes up with some funny things to say I highly doubt if he never played in the NBA he would be on food stamps
