Favre: Vikes know his intentions

07:22 AM ET 08.06 | Brett Favre nearly bit his tongue. Instead of stopping in front of the cameras, Favre hopped into his white Ford F-250 pickup truck. He began to close the door. Then -- you guessed it -- he seemed to change his mind. A reporter asked him if he could ride back to Favre's house in Favre's truck. "I'm not going back there yet," Favre said. "I'm going for a [bike] ride." Was there anything he wanted to say, in the wake of reports that he had told some Vikings teammates at training camp in Mankato, via text, that he was retiring and that the Vikings were prepared to offer him a raise if that would persuade him to return? "No," he said, quietly, shaking his head. "No." Favre started the engine, and, as shutters clicked, he was asked if the Vikings were aware of his intentions. "I talked to them," he said. "They know."

Maybe the news is that Brett is sick of having microphones and cameras in his face.

Ed Werder had the look of a man who thought he was about to make breaking news.... Favre jerked him around the block from inside of his loud diesel...Favre's waving at guys, not even looking at Ed...wow, I'd be devastated if I was a reporter and I was told "your assignment is to go down to Hattiesburg, chase Favre around, leave 100 messages...."

OK, the Vikings know what his intentions are and there are conflicting reports coming out of the Vikings, one says he retired, and one says he kinda isn't but may.
Of course, the media won't be told of his intentions, because that would take the focus off of the Favre, and we can't have that.
I guess that if Favre keeps the focus on himself this offseason, people may forget that he cost his team last year a trip to the Superbowl. Can't focus on his constant failures that really showcase his career over the last 10 years, right?

I wouldnt put it past him. As much as I hate talking about this clown I can see where he's coming from though. The guy can still play football, and how do you just walk away from the only life that you know. Its sad but it just may take a devastating injury to force Brett out of the game forever.
