Taylor takes shot at Dolphins?

08:13 AM ET 08.06 | Do the Dolphins treat players like children? "You can do what you want here," said linebacker Jason Taylor, in his first Jets camp and veteran of 12 with the Dolphins. "It's truly ... I want to be careful not to slight anybody because people take things and run with it. But it's different up here. They approach it a little differently. Everyone is treated like a man. They expect you to be accountable, take care of what you need to take care of, but they're not going to babysit you in doing it." They're certainly not going to watch your words, not when the coach the antithesis of uptight predecessor Eric Mangini -- is so free with his own. "I don't think it would work if I tried to be somebody I'm not and try to have that kind of environment," [Rex] Ryan said. "The environment that we have, I think, works. This is who we are. ... We're a very disciplined football team, but we also encourage the individuality, the looseness, and everything else."

The Rex Ryan move is 1 of the more overlooked great coaching changes in the NFL recently. The Jets are actually good......

When has Taylor ever kept his mouth shut? But at least now his attitude fits with the in-your-face swagger of the coach. But truth is, the Jets could be very good this year, and Taylor could be a contributor. Jets-Ravens, opening day - don't miss it.

Taylor is a has been......who cares?

August 6, 2010  09:29 AM ET

Taylor is just bitter.....Fins didn't want him

August 6, 2010  09:29 AM ET

He had several different coaches while in Miami, so fortunately he's not calling out one specific name.

Iam a Dolphins fan & i have always liked JT alot but he needs to zip his mouth & just play hard...if i recall correctly he has always bashed the Jets & now he plays for them?

Parcells & crew did do JT wrong...he should of been signed for less (which he was willing to take) & helped out this team...he's 1 of the best aall time Dolphins player & should retire a Dolphin !

It's Parcells and his regime that can be a bit childish at times

I don't think he's too far from the truth, possibly.

You got it. Just the way he has always been.
Taylor didn't say anything bad, or untrue. A lot of players have said the same things over the years changing from team to team or coach to coach.

Taylor is a cry baby. he hates to admit his skills have eroded and the players are flying past him. he may have the xperience but one needs SKILLS to get by. As a jets fan, we have not improved ourselves with him, Rex is hoping for a miracle. bet cha HE GETS HURT AGAIN, then what?? we could have obtained a more healthy player.

No, no he refused to be signed for less and hunted for the most money. you heard the wrong side, here in florida we have heard the truth.. he thought he was better than the contarct they offered him. My jets will be sorry

OK, so he is a Jet, they are awesome in September, stink in November/December, got lucky last year, don't get hopes too high this year.

Taylor sucks....can't keep up with running backs, and now he wants to run
his mouth. I pray he never gets a ring...........sorry "Yets"....
