09:01 AM ET 08.07 | Not that Lane Kiffin or USC needed more distractions, but... On a day when fullback Stanley Havili was suspended indefinitely for his role in an altercation that led to surgery for a teammate, USC's coach once again was answering questions about possible NCAA violations during his short tenure at Tennessee.

Is anyone surprised here? This guy oozes Sleeze Ball.

Does that make him a moving violation...Sorry had to...

As much as I dislike Kiffin and USC, I really believe FN has it in for him too. Look at this photo and several others from the past. They seem adept at capturing Kiffin with some goofy or overwhelmed look on his face. Poor little fellar; he was just a boy.

If Kiffin followed the rules, he would not have to deal with all of this garbage. Although, the NCAA does seem to be on some sort of massive crackdown.

Dang! Sounds just like coach Rodriguez and all his troubles.

Like they say in the SEC " If you ain't cheatin you ain't winnin" College sports particularly football and basket at Division I reeks of improprieties. It is one big cess pool and I refuse to watch this charade.

Kiffin's problem isn't just that he breaks the rules, it's that he doesn't even know them.

Oh, please. Half the time they put of a pic of a completely different person than the one the article is about. I think once there was an article about Kobe and they had a pic of Shaq. Kiffin is "a moving violation" (source- 'no friend of mine'), doesn't take much effort.

ironic isn't it.

I guess SEC should be watching Big XII(10) and PAC 10 on how to behave.

So how is that bowl ban and scholarship limit thing working out for you?

Can the NCAA punish USC for what Kiffin did at UTenn? It would be wholly unjust for the Vols. to suffer, but it seems like the typical trend is for cheating coaches to bolt while the NCAA punishes the school they abandoned. Carroll and USC is just one of several examples.

Interesting article..

Since the NCAA began tracking major infractions cases in 1953, the SEC institutions have been penalized 48 times, an average of sanctions every 13?? months.
That's in line with other conferences.

Using current conference alignments, the Big 12 leads BCS affiliates with 55 infractions cases, followed by the SEC, the Pac-10 (41) and the Big Ten (40).

Yet, of all the conferences, the SEC has perhaps the worst reputation for cheating.
"I don't think it's fair to say the SEC is worst," said David Ridpath, an assistant professor of sports administration at Ohio University and executive director of The Drake Group, which advocates comprehensive reform of college athletics.

It's actually had no effect yet, tyvm. We dropped some dead weight, but until I see a slide downhill in results on the field, not gonna worry to much about it. Thanks for asking though.
