09:11 AM ET 08.08 | Isiah Thomas nearly climbed the corporate ladder from consultant to Knicks president on Day 1 of his new job with the club. The Daily News has learned that Donnie Walsh considered resigning after Madison Square Garden chairman James Dolan made the controversial move to hire Thomas, but Walsh decided to continue running the team despite his objections to Thomas having a role in the front office. "Donnie finds this entire thing distasteful," said one NBA source. "He's had second thoughts about staying but he wants to finish the job."

Time to move on, Bro.

If the world gets nuked the only survivors will be cockroaches and Isiah

So basically, Isaiah wasn't fired...he was given a two year leave of absence while Walsh cleaned up all his crap and set him up with a new blank slate. See...this is what the Walsh bashers never understood. The guy can only pres/GM as good as the owner allows, and the owner is a mental defective. So, two years of trimming contracts, benching malcontents and creating financial flexibility for the next several years will be turned back over to the carnival clown who put us in this spot to begin with. Thomas must have pictures of Dolan. Reminds of "Back To School". 'Here's you and Giorgio in the guest room. A little classy, isn't it? Here's you and Giorgio in the rumpus room. Another classy one, huh? Ooh, this one, I can't figure out. There's you, there's Giorgio... What's with the midget over here?'

I'd get the hell away from Isah as well...the Knicks continue to be doomed.

August 8, 2010  10:48 AM ET

I would quit too!

Isiah Thomas again? Really? The Knicks owner never ceases to amaze me. How can one be so stupid?

Fool me once, shame on me.
Fool me twice, same on me."

I am useless without my coffee.........

If Walsh had any balls at all, he'd resign and watch the thing blow up.....again.

This story is just the sad reality of what NY Knick basketball is all about right now. This organization will go nowhere until new ownership is brought in and the entire front office is cleaned out.

You but all the blame on Isiah, he went out and got what he thought was the best talent available and paid them well. There are other people in the Knicks organization that could have stepped and said NO. There are ball players all over the league with big contracts and small talent. He brought in good players. The Knicks know he is the guy that will land them melo and either parker or paul

Please do not use the term "midget", especially in such a derogatory manner. The proper term is person with dwarfism and, yes, they are people like you who deserve the same respect. Although many people regard people with dwarfism primarily as objects of ridicule, they are important members of society, with many being engineers, salespeople, software designers, parents, lawyers, and such. Thank you.
