Can Urban steal Miami recruit?
Banneker safety Darrell Simmons continues to lean toward a commitment to Miami. But the 6-foot-1, 201-pound Simmons is contemplating a visit to defending national champion Florida. Simmons, who made the trek to Gainesville during his junior season, is a big fan of Florida coach Urban Meyer. "He's just a great coach," said Simmons, who has offers from programs such as Alabama, Florida, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State and Tennessee. "He's very enthusiastic." Simmons said he's not down on the Canes following their blowout loss to Oklahoma last weekend.

This happens all the time. This is why recruiting is bogus until signing day. Only then do we know what's real from make believe.

The U needs a QB. A safety does not matter as much of their lack of OFFENSE.

Right now we need all we can to be able get to get back up in the thick of things. Miami ranks 4th right now in the upcoming recruiting class. Our rookie QB who probably will not play this year because he will probably redshirt is our next hope at QB. We already have another big QB committment so will will not be looking for anymore big QB's because with the two we have now and another senior coming back next year, I think we will concentrate more on WR's and O-lineman.

This is just Fannation trying to stir up a conversation. Recruiting is a grueling process, each team is going to attempt to dissuade players (from other teams) who they think fit their system. Every team does it, some teams are just getting more PR than others (like FLA). It goes with the territory when you win.
