kinda rhymes with Vrabel... of course Bellichek is interested in Schobel, perfect fit for the Pats and their defensive schemes...

Unfortunately, the Pats are in a situation where they're going to look at anybody who's ever played the position. Anybody know where Ted Hendricks is hanging out these days?

It makes sense. The Pat's are very thin there, and Schobel probably has enough left in the tank to help them.

You would think so - and you would also think that he would be very interested in the Pats. Good fit all around.

It would be an excellent pickup if the Pats pull it off.

The threads this morning are so bad that only the spammers are interested.

Would be a good move. Even Wilfork is saying he may want to try out at linebacker this year.

Word...

If they weren't it would be the first time in history the Pats weren't interested in an old player, bonus he's an old white guy a Pats trademark.

thought he didn't want to play LB in 3-4.......

I don't watch Buff that often, but the talking heads are always saying Schobel is done. Is he still capable of making an impact...or is this going to be signing an old guy for signing's sake?

He is... He's got maybe 2-3 more left... in a 4-3 maybe... and, that's the problem, his skills, and size would translate well into a LB in a 3-4... but, as with most DE's who convert to 3-4 LB (*cough kampman*)... it's 70% mental block, 30% ability.

Love the move, this is one of those guys who eats Tommy boy for snack packs each time they play eachother. He fits the scheme, hes needed in a division thats sure to be the toughest in the NFL this year, love the move if they make a play for him. All about the D in NE baby

In other news, WCVB is reporting that water is wet and fish like to swim in it.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled program, already in progress.

They're moving Wilfork to DE and bringing in Shaq to play nose tackle.

I heard they were moving Wilfork to DE and bringing in JaMarkus to plug up the middle.

August 9, 2010  12:13 PM ET

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't he a defensive end?

August 9, 2010  12:22 PM ET

Seriously doubt he will end up in Foxboro.
