07:48 AM ET 08.10 | Don't expect to see the HBO series "Hard Knocks" filming in Allen Park anytime soon. Lions coach Jim Schwartz said Monday that he has no interest in taking part in the NFL-based documentary, now in its sixth year. "That's not me," Schwartz said. "I mean, once that genie's out of the bottle it's hard to get that one back in. We got a lot of work to do out here and our philosophy is let's go to work and let's concentrate on today." The New York Jets are the fifth team to take part in the series, following the Ravens (2001), Cowboys ('02 and '08), Chiefs ('07) and Bengals ('09). The first episode of this season airs at 10 p.m. Wednesday.

That would be a totally differnt show if it featured the Lions. Something between a comedy and horro flick.

*different
*horror

I have a hunch that HBO isn't clamoring for the Lions to be on there anyway, Jim.

I don't think their situation is as bad as the Bears.

Nope - two teams going in very different directions...

Well Jim, Hard Knocks is reserved for teams that actually have a chance to make the playoffs. That would be like Eric Mangini saying "I don't want HBO to film Hard Knocks because the camera adds 10lbs to you and both Mike and I don't need extra camera weight".

Like at that circus weight anybody would notice

So get to coaching and leave the speculating to the media types....

Detroit still has a football team? Oh those poor ****.

August 10, 2010  10:33 AM ET

Lions will be lucky if the networks even show up for the games.

You never know. NFL films mic'd up Stafford last season against the Browns. Yawn right? They said it was their best production ever.

When considering the bad luck and fotunes of the Detroit Lions over the past decade plus perhaps "Jim Schwartz might want to think about filming "How The Lions got Hard Knocked"

August 10, 2010  11:55 AM ET

Best move the lions have made in a decade:

1. Trading Roy Williams to the Cowboys.

2. Turning down hard knocks (lol)

3. (Your turn)

4.) firing Matt Millen after he created such a disaster it will take them 10 years to recover

5.) drafting Matt Stafford and Calvin Johnson.

If I was a coach I wouldn't want Hard Knocks cameras hanging around either. It's a stupid show and it doesn't do anything to get a team ready to play.

Or Al Davis turning down the show for the Raiders because he'll appear deader on camera than he does in real life.
