08:03 AM ET 08.10 | Stacking up the particulars would put a frown on their faces, but Knicks fans may not have Isiah Thomas to kick around anyway. Chances are all of this discussion will prove to be a whole lot to do about nothing. The Knicks, sources say, are going to have a very difficult time getting this hire past NBA officials. Not because it's a stupid idea, but because it's probably against league rules. The NBA Constitution and bylaws include very strict prohibitions against team employees having contact with draft-ineligible players -- i.e., high school prospects and college or international players not yet eligible to be drafted. NBA team officials aren't even permitted to utter the names of such players, much less coach them, scout them, or comment about them in press conferences.

LOL....On a pathetic note......how f'n disgusting is it that knick fans have to hope and pray for the NBA to intervene to save us?

It says something serious about who is running the team. It's like that teenage girl who is so "in love" with that guy that everyone can see is horrible for her. No matter how bad things get she just keeps trying to get back to him. Effin' tragic is what it is.

So now HARD is the NBA going to come down on the Knicks for violating The NBA Constitution and By-Laws, like Minnesota did when it sign Joe Smith to a under the table deal....one first round pick..two?

The Knicks should have people who should know the by-laws....and if it is a Gray area of the by-laws..you first contact the NBA front office...and if the Owner Dolan broke the rules, maybe a Fine.

"Not because it's a stupid idea."

Of course not. Stupid ideas are what the Bricks do. That's what brought them to this point. This story is just bullsh!t. All Isiah has to do is resign from his job at FIU.

The Knicks are lucky the NBA will block this...
