Bradford on accelerated timetable?

08:24 AM ET 08.10 | Sam Bradford "was supposed to be slowly spoon-fed" his NFL diet, but his performance this past week may be pushing the Rams' appetite to see him. After a sometimes bumpy first week in the NFL, the last six days have been a stunning awakening as he continues to put together eye-opening practice session after eye-opening practice session at such an accelerated pace that Steve Spagnuolo's timetable for slowly grooming Bradford into the starter's role might end up being tossed aside before we get halfway through the exhibition season. "He was very effective and very impressive on Thursday, got even better on Friday and that carried over to Saturday's scrimmage," said Tony Softli, a former Rams player personnel man and frequent visitor to practice as a local radio commentator.

It's good that he's making progress, but I totally agree with you Chico, this is a non story.

It sounds like St louis is trying to convince themselves this season is worthwhile....

Talk about big-time expectations.

If he doesn't fix the economy, walk on water, solve global warming, win the Superbowl, date a supermodel, arrest Osama bin Laden and turn Nancy Pelosi into a newt, everyone is going to very disappointed.

Sorry, Sammy boy, you're playing for the Lambs.

Please ease him into it. And in the next draft, get him some linemen for protection. If not, we'll have Joey Harrington/David Carr Part II

Too much Sam, too much Spam.

The Rams deserve whatever they get from Bradford. Who in their right minds draft a player #1 who only had one proven year in college as a sophmore. Then missed his whole junior year with a major shoulder injury and comes out the next year. He is very unproven and quite frankly extremely overated. I think expectation here are far too high.

Or he will wind up flat on his back all year long ... one or the other.

no surprise here...this kid is the best qb since peyton manning was drafted in 98...he'll shatter many of peyton's records and lift the rams from the doldrums of mediocrity

Which is exactly what Al Davis thought of JaMarcus Russell.

I wish him luck, but I'm afraid that by the time the Rams build a team around him to showcase his talents, he'll be ready for retirement.

Shouldn't they see him play against a defense other than their own before they decide if he can play? Every quarterback they played last year looked great against them.

San Francisco 9-7
Seattle 7-9
Arizona 6-10
St Louis 4-12

Key point is they need him to play agianst a real defense...something the Rams, lack...setting this boy up for failure when a real corner has a bead on him....can you say BLITZ, BLITZ, BLITZ

JaMarcus likes green eggs and ham,
JaMarcus likes them, Sam-I-Am.
He would eat them when he's cryin'
He would eat them with Rex Ryan.

He'd eat them up in Carolina
He'd eat them sitting with Mangina
He'd eat them even if they stank
He'd wash them down with Purple Drank.

JaMarcus likes green eggs and ham,
JaMarcus likes them, Sam-I-Am.

I mean yah the rams are not the greatest team or even close but they did go to umm a few divisional and conference playoffs and I do think I saw them in a superbowl or two - I think they even one won? All in the last decade.
