Gonzalez available for suitors?

08:04 AM ET 08.11 | If, according to a major league source, the Orioles have placed left-handed reliever Mike Gonzalez on trade waivers, the Red Sox might be interested. Gonzalez missed most of the season with shoulder problems but has looked healthy in his last nine appearances dating back to July 22; he's thrown 8 1/3 innings and allowed two runs in that span. Gonzalez was signed to a two-year deal in the offseason to be Baltimore's closer, but it didn't work out after he struggled early and then went on the DL. ... Gonzalez would be a good choice, but there are no indications whether the Orioles would entertain a deal or whether they put him on trade waivers routinely as most teams do.

i don't think his arm healed properly after that surgery...when he came back, he just wasn't the same pitcher. not sure why the Sox would want him anyway.

A lefty Orioles reliever who is possibly heading for waivers...Gonzalez should be doing cartwheels over this kind of publicity.

How long do you guys think this O's success will last under Bucky?
As for this thread, I would prefer not giving up Gonzo.

Okajima isn't getting it done for the Sox from the left side. But Sox won't be a buyer if the O's are looking for much beyond just getting out from under Gonzalez's contract.

Lefty specialist at best, since Oki is down and out. Especially when he is on the mound. As long as they give up nothing to get him, all in all its an eh

The Dodgers should trade Sherrill back to the O's for him. Couldn't be any worse.
