Ravens D displays dominance at camp

07:56 AM ET 08.11 | While a few plays, obviously, do not a season make, the Ravens' offense did not fare well in a short drill. During an exercise pitting the first-team offense against the first-team defense, the defense stood supreme. In five snaps, Joe Flacco was sacked by defensive end Trevor Pryce, linebacker Jarret Johnson and strong safety Dawan Landry. The defense jumped offside once, and Flacco completed a mid-range pass to wide receiver Anquan Boldin. ... Tuesday was not a good day for Shayne Graham, who was unsuccessful on three of four field-goal attempts. All three misses -- from 35, 52 and 57 yards -- went left of the goal posts. ... OVERHEARD: "Hey, Graham, that's disgusting!" -- Terrell Suggs after Graham shanked a 35 yarder wide left.

If the D is showing dominanace, shouldn't there be a picture of Ray Lewis or Ed Reed and not Boldin?

Getting after the QB is a good sign for that defense with the way their backfield is depleted. That will have to be the formula all year.

Love the bagging of the kicker...

What the hell?! Does FN have Yoda writing copy or what?

While this sounds very positive, I remain skeptical about the Ravens D this year. That secondary is banged up bad. I think we're about to see a let down in Baltimore this year.

OVERHEARD: "Hey, Graham, that's disgusting!" -- [Terrell] Suggs after Graham shanked a 35-yarder wide left.

Later, in the locker room, Graham said the same to Suggs.

ummm....GO STEELERS!!!!

A team that will walk away with the AFC North.

Ravens 12-4, resting players the last few games
Bengals 10-6, wondering where last year's magic went
Browns 7-9, feeling good about what is still a losing season
Steelers 6-10, because you need more than tradition to be a winner

If you don't call all the defensive pass interference and illegal contact penalties on the secondary...the ravens D is awesome! However when there are guys w/ flags in their pockets, let the hankie festival begin! The Ravens could possibly give up more yards in penalties then they do from non flagged plays this year. their secondary is beyond awful right now.

That's nice. Problem is Peyton Manning dominates them. Last example: He was 30 of 44 passing for 246 yards and 2 TDs this last January. And with no running game. And that colts defense dominated the Ravens. Final score? 20-3.

i would be more worried about the fg kicking, one need only look to the chargers-jets game in the playoffs last year.
