08:02 AM ET 08.11 | The Orioles have now, with the help of scoring 10 consecutive runs Tuesday night, won seven of eight games since Buck Showalter took over as manager. "It's a lot of fun. It's a relief," said first baseman Luke Scott, who had a homer and four RBIs. "It just makes the game fun for us whenever we pound out some hits, score a lot of runs. It just does the dugout good. You started seeing guys taking really good, aggressive hacks at balls in the zone. When their pitchers made the mistakes, guys weren't taking tentative hacks. Guys were getting after it." ... Said Jake Arrieta: "It's real fun to be an Oriole right now with the way the guys are swinging the bats and the starters have been able to throw the ball pretty well and go deep into games. We're all having a lot of fun right now."

Who would've thought they'd make the Indians look THAT bad. Very depressing to watch that game last night...

the shoewalter effect will wear off in time. then it comes down to 'crap....we really don't have that good of a team?!?!'

but i do think buck will turn these guys around but not until some personnel moves are made and even at that point they still might be competing for the 4th best team in the division.

'I love winning! I mean, it's like better than losing!

They need to sell more than 15K in tickets first. But this has been an awsome streatch for them. It was so hard prior to Buck getting here. I am sure he has something to do with it but not everything. There is talent on this team when you look at all the young guys but thats just it they are too young

Indeed it was. They got their arses kicked

But eventually Bucky Ball will wear thing on the players. Especially next spring when he comes in with the 200 page rulebook he is notorious for.

I agree that he will get them turned around, but Buck is not the long term answer by evidence of what he did in NY, TX, and AZ

yes, he's good for a struggling team to put them on the right path and then a move will be made to replace him. 2 of 3 teams you mentioned ended up winning WS titles the year after he left the team.

Buck can help right the ship and get it headed in the right direction, but he will never carry the ship to the promised land.

Now...yes, the comment was about getting over the hump and winning a championship. The O's don't have that problem right now.

August 11, 2010  12:44 PM ET

I think O's fans would settle for a remotely decent team at this point.

August 11, 2010  01:43 PM ET

winning solves most if not all problems

well they have the added burden of playing in the AL East.

August 11, 2010  02:21 PM ET

I wonder if they realize that they have to win 35 straight games JUST TO REACH .500

August 11, 2010  05:45 PM ET

It is the Buck Showalter Show... Showalter's gotten every organization off to a winning start after being named Manager... Yankees, Rangers, D-Backs...

It is GREAT to see this "Storied" franchise responding to Buck. This is great for baseball now and hopefully in the future - a Red Sox Fan.

August 11, 2010  08:24 PM ET

How long will it last before they start to suck again? There's hope for the organization in about three years, not now.
