Bigger, better than ever at Alabama?

08:21 AM ET 08.11 | Bryant-Denny Stadium, for many, is pitch-perfect. What's not to love about what may be the finest college football stadium in the entire country? Oh, there are bigger stadiums, like the Big House at Michigan, but not many. There are better settings, like the San Gabriel Mountains looming over the Rose Bowl, but Mother Nature gets all the credit there. When it comes to sheer, man-made, concrete-and-glass awesomeness, from the tiniest detail to the massive overall scale, bigger and better Bryant-Denny may be as good as it gets.

I've never been in that stadium, what are the fans like? Is it worth checking it out?

This press release has been brought to you by the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce, Budweiser, Jiffy Lube, the letters R and X, and by the number 4. Stay tuned for news, hopefully, after this brief commercial message.

$65 million to add seats in the end zones. Shame they don't have a similar commitment to research and academics.

The stadium is nice but what they have done is added more luxury boxes and eating establishments. The stadium actually has a food court like a mall. I recently got a tour of the athletic facilities and as part of it we got to go into the stadium and see the new expansion. It was awesome and will be loud.
I am not sure how it works at other schools but at Bama just to get into the stadium you have to donate some money. As the stadium has expanded the price to get decent seats has gone up and to get a bump up in seats you have to donate more and be put on a waiting list as long as Santas list. So if you sit in any decent area you are most likely surrounded by people who are there to enjoy the game. You do have your toothless rednecks and dumbarses that ruin it for others but for the most part the fans are pretty friendly. I know that others will always have horror stories but I believe they are the exception and that it is no worse than any other stadium.
