Husker spies worry Trojans

USC grants more public access to practices than many major college football programs. The top-ranked Trojans, however, went into hiding in preparation for tonight's game against No. 14 Nebraska. On Friday, when several hundred onlookers showed up at an Omaha high school to catch a glimpse of the Trojans, Coach Pete Carroll ordered his team off the football field and onto a nearby baseball field that was shielded by stadium bleachers and an outfield fence with a tarp on it. USC personnel patrolled the school and the neighborhood that flanked it to discourage potential spying after a local radio station announced where the Trojans would practice.

What a surprise......a typical Dallas Cowboys fan IS ALSO a fan of USC (at least as long as USC stays a winning team). Let me guess...your favorite baseball team is the Yankees, and you were a huge Chicago Bulls fan back in the 1990's. Bandwagon "fans" like you are a joke, and a dime-a-dozen.

Pete Carroll could have given the play book to the Huskers to study and USC still would have crushed Nebraska. Hey Nebraska...it's not like the good old days when you could schedule opponents that nobody has ever heard of before, and then run-up the score, huh?

^^^ No kidding there. 'SC looked scary good. Herbstreit said it best for anyone thinking of putting LSU higher than the Trojans. A road win, destroying the 'Huskers like that, counts for more than the Tigers dismantling the Hokies at home.

USC easily looked like the #1 team in the country. By the end of the game they were practicing their timing routes with Nebraska's 1st-string defense.

USC gave up 31 points to Nebraska. How is that a whupping?
an 18 point win is JUST that - a win. USC gave up 10 to IDAHO - come on IDAHO? ya'll really have some good dope out there! LSU hasn't given up 10 points all season!!! They are better than Yuck-See - But we wont find out cause Yuck-See won't be in the big one.

It's time Nebraska Athletic Director Steve Pederson was fired. The hiring of Bill Callaghan has turned this storied program from a perennial Top 5 contender to an also ran team that can't compete against the Top 10 anymore. It's not that the Huskers are losing, it's that they are not even competitive against the top teams. Fire Callaghan, but fire Pederson first !

SC fans, George says: your team played like a professional one last night. Amazing. Not only is just about every player at every position very, very good, they all seem to have an iron attitude. They are confident, proficient and certainly cuts above any other team. You would have thought that the gaffe at the goal line by Maualuga that led to a Husker TD might have unnerved them a little bit. Apparently not even a whit. This team is clearly No. 1 and George doesn't say that because he's a fan. (He isn't, but he give props where props belong.) Right now, the only team that could play them at all would be LSU. (Florida will crumble against a stern defense and then fallaway is precipitous.) The only problem they will face all season will be not to let down and that is easy to do against a team like Washington or Oregon State or AZ. If they do maintain that level of play, George says they are in fact unbeatable. They were men among boys last night in Lincoln: the running plays through the middle of the Husker line were astonishing; the line-blocking is just excellent. PS Booty is one immobile QB. With an array of backs that SC has, though, it's no big thing and Booty is a very accurate passer. He actually looks like a pro passer already.

The defensive coordinator waited until the last possible second before he sent in the signal. However, it didn't matter.

I think 21 of the 31 points Nebraska scored came when USC had pulled all but one starter on defense and Nebraska played all of their starters the whole game. Say what you want but if you watched the game you knew that it was as close as the score indicated

Is George misunderstanding something here USC's#1Fan? George saw USC dominate the entire game and give up only garbage points at the end. The game was over in the first quarter because the Trojans played so dominant and Nebraska was totally outmatched. (LSUBest maybe didn't see the game. He didn't see the one I saw.) Maybe you left out "not" after "that" and before "was" in the last sentence?

Yea I spoke before I saw it - but it still shows a problem with depth - does it not? Aren't we always one play away from needing backups on the field?
A championship team should not have a great drop-off from #1 to #2.

LSU keeps there first string in all game... to try to win BCS points by running the score up. Pete Carroll has more class than that... Great win @ Lincoln... Fight On SC!

SC is DEEEEEEEEEEEEP. You can have five guys go down at one position and there's a quality player still on the bench to take up the slack. And they p+lay so consistent. It's got to be good coaching. (You know, George is not a fan of SC, but he gives props.)

Report Offensive Comment

LSU has been playing 2nd and 3rd teamers with NO drop-off - YOU must not be watching!!!!!!!
