Texas' best defense under Muschamp?

08:39 AM ET 08.13 | While it remains to be seen whether Texas runs the ball more, in theory helping the defense, that defense is more than ready for the work. On full display in the final open practice were defensive ends galore who can rush the passer, as well as drop back into coverage, athletic linebackers and speedy defensive backs. Could it be Will Muschamp's deepest defense at Texas? ... "I don't know. We'll see how it goes. You get somebody hurt, and it's not the deepest any more." In truth, his group is stacked in the secondary, at linebacker and at end, but he won't let compliments get in his way of coming up with two dozen or more players who can have an impact immediately.

Yes except at DT. Definitely his fastest. Probably 12 kids that will play Sundays (^^he's one up there).

I thought it was A&M that had the 12th man? Why only 12? This is TX after all. Every kid on that squad should go pro. Even the kids on the practice squad could go pro this year.

I'm just glad Orapko and Sergio Kindle are gone.

It'll be interesting to see who can move the ball in the RRSO. I think both defenses are going to be domninant. Just hope Landry doesn't **** down his leg and give it away again.

Texas like other high profile school, just pluggem in.

Big bump in the middle of the schedule for Texas, @ Oklahoma followed by @ Nebraska.
Get over that hump and the only true threat left are the Aggies.

Let's see what happens when they play someone besides those painsey **** Big 12 teams!

Just send Murray up the gut off LG/LT. Texas is thin at DT unless the two Frosh can play some snaps right away. they are having to move S. Acho (above) from his usual SDE position to RDT to help out.Rush end doesn't concern me though. They've recruited the hell out of that position.Landry won't be able to pass against the secondary so running is your best bet. Although that little pipsqueak Broyles can be a pain in the arse.

I don't know if Murray up the middle is a good strategy anymore. He dropped about 10 pounds in the off-season to regain his outside burst. I do think Jermie Calhoun is going to break out this year though. And yeah, Broyles is a stud.

I thought that was the UT he referenced?

I believe he was referring to University of Texas. Who knows, all you UTs look the same to me (in my rear view mirror). ;)

You forgot NJ and LA at least on a per capita basis.

Florida has been tapping into that NJ area with a lot of success. Aaron Hernandez a few years back and Sharrif Floyd last year. Love me some Jersey shore kids.

Glad Chad got some coin. Kindle may still sign a contract but it will be severely limited. His agent may have to get creative and almost certainly guaranteed money is gone. Bad deal all around and he would have been great playing in that D.

I didn't realize it was that bad. Sad deal. Even though we got the better of your D in the BCS game, he played a very good game.
