08:35 AM ET 08.13 | Welcome to the bulletin board, Harrison Waid, who earlier this week addressed his San Jose State team's season-opener at Alabama. "We're excited we get to go knock them around," said kicker Harrison Waid, a redshirt freshman from Fremont High in Sunnyvale. "If we can beat them we'll remember it for the rest of our lives no matter what else happens." That's one big "if." Coming off a 2-10 season, the Spartans open the MacIntrye Era against the defending national champions and reigning Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram. The school of legendary coach Paul "Bear" Bryant is 26-2 the past two seasons.

Holy crap. The kicker. I bet the football players are piszed off he opened his mouth.

i think the Peyton Manning quote about Vanderjagt also applies here:
"he's a kicker....he's an idiot."

hey, where's the thread about Bama misspelling Mississippi on their tix? They left out one of the 'P's....gotta be a joke in there somewhere. :-)

Freshman kicker too. I would not want to be THAT guy this week.

Exactly who does a kicker knock around anyway? Well, other than Janikowski (sp?) that is.

Why do this T&R, why?

I would not want to be that kicker during the game. I imagine some of the Bama players are going to take a shot or two to let him know he is in a football game.

Because it's an opportunity for the interns to put things like this on the board:

the defending national champions and reigning Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram. The school of legendary coach Paul "Bear" Bryant is 26-2 the past two seasons.

Some one's sporting some serious wood for 'Bama at FN

Yeah it was all over the LSU/SEC blog I frequent..The joke there is it doesnt matter cuz Mississippi peep cant read anyways..No offense Default

Why is the kicker tugging on Superman's cape? Bama by 35, only because Saban will force his RBs to take a knee after gaining first down yardage, and the QBs will not be allowed to throw.

I think MS reads better than anyone else in the conference. We definitely spell better than our neighbors to each side of us :)

I hope the Million Dollar Band gets to play "Do You Know The Way To San Jose" when the rout is on.

The problem is that the San Jose State kicker might only see three plays: the opening kickoff of one of the halves, and the PAT and subsequent kickoff when they score a token TD with the third-string Bama defense in the game.

I suspect Mr. Waid's not even the main PK on the team, either. Sounds like he's trying the Lane Kiffin playbook - talk smack because it's all he's got.

I heard that too.

Somebody is about to get duct-taped to the goalpost by his team mates.....

The ticket schtickit - Already in circulation, tickets to Bama's home game against Ol' Miss have Mississippi spelled, "Mississipi." A spokesperson has already aw shuckeds, reckoning the proof readers missed that one.

A freakin kicker??? Geeeeeezus. I can't decide if a wife/mother is above or below a kicker on the need to keep your yap shut in regards to sports stuff scale.
