Swept by the Diamondbacks last weekend, St. Louis fell into a downward spiral that not only severely crimped its playoff chances but also may lead to sweeping changes that include manager Tony La Russa. La Russa said his first step is to make an internal audit to make sure he wants to keep managing.

hey the braves i dont think need to replace bobby cox and he's not a used up sumbitch, la russa has coached the best and the worst of players i say just cause this team struggles one year and fail to make the playoffs dont mean they should just start clearin' house, but i do say this if they do let la russa go and the torre and the yankees dont come to an agreement then u best believe that yankees will be frist in line, behind baltimore..

I believe this will be Tony's second losing season in 12 years in STLS.......I don't think that is a reason to let him go and make changes.....if Carpenter doesn't get hurt early, the Cards probably have enough to win this weak division. I just wonder if Tony has the desire to stay in St Louis after this year.....

I hope he bolts to the M`s in the AL,that way, the rest of the division may have a shot. The guy competed with a crappy team this yr. Kip Wells, your gravey train just ran away...along with your ERA... Russell Branyon, your .189 batting avg is now safe... as long as you play for the league minimum...
