09:10 AM ET 08.14 | Andy Pettitte went through with his simulated game in Tampa Friday, but it was far from a true simulation for the lefty. Instead, Pettitte threw 50 pitches at about 75% strength, still bothered by some soreness in his strained left groin. He'll join the Yankees Saturday in Kansas City, where he'll be evaluated by team trainers.

The Yankees won't win with out him......

A-Roid is slowing down. Jeter has lost a step and the pitching is a mess.

Time for a do over.

You know..... with all their ailments.......They still have the best record in baseball Arod is #2 in the league in rbi's by the way, if he's slowed down, what about the other 99.99% of the AL?

HE CHEATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Arod has gotten worse defensively. He has a -3.3 UZR. His offense certainly isnt great either. He has a 2.2 WAR, by far his lowest in his career (save his first two seasons with the MAriners where he played sparingly.)

It sounds like Dead Sox fans (Papi and Manny) and Dubbs (Cubs/Sosa), pot calling the kettle black! You idiots (real idiots not the dead sox of a few years ago) need to find a clue. It may be in the restroom, if you look around a little.

pass the cream, please...

August 14, 2010  12:36 PM ET

He's injured, so there's the excuse for the "juice".

August 14, 2010  12:37 PM ET

As a Yankee Fan, I'd say Pettitte can take as long as it takes to get back...

As long as he's back for the playoffs...

When he's right, he is as Consistent as they come...

More than can be said for A.J. or Vazquez...

Texas vs New York for the ALCS will be a great matchup.

As long as he's back for October it's fine, as long as the Sox have Papelblown and the Rays have Upton, we'll continue to be tops in the East.

They need him rested, healed and ready for the playoff's but they don't need him between now and the end of the regular season to make it to the post season.

A-"ROID" hasn't tested positive in any season that it was a punishable offense. He's clean now thus his .260 average and career low HR totals.... I personally wished the Yankee had let him go after he opted out of his contract but to call him A-Roid and keep harping on the steroids as if he was the "ONLY" player in MLB on juice is just pure Yankee hating. It's becoming more and more clear that Jose Canseco was probably right in saying over 1/2 the boys in the bigs in the late 90's early 2000's were on steroids.....

Jeter has always been some what overrated.....But he has looked pretty solid in the field, his bat isn't what it once was and it's not like it was ever a terror in the line up.

Pitching has been decent... A.J. is hit or miss from start to start.... C.C. is the late season work horse they signed. They are playing with Hughes with kid gloves which like with Joba last season isn't having the right affect. he hasn't been quite the same since they skipped him one time through the rotation and then the long All Star break.... Vazquez has actually been very solid since the break and Dustin Mosley hasn't been bad filling in for Andy...

THE RED SOX HIT THE WALL THIS PAST FRIDAY!!!!

August 14, 2010  03:55 PM ET

YANKEES CAN'T LOSE ANY GAME AGAINST THE LOWLY ROYALS!!

August 14, 2010  04:56 PM ET

Pettitte threw 50 pitches at about 75% strength
actually he threw at 100%, and no that radar gun was not broken....

71 MPH, yep hes an old fart now- cant wait until rivera joins him

August 14, 2010  06:39 PM ET

I'm lost in all this...

Jeter has been over rated !!! What baseball have you been watching the last 15 years ? He now has passed some of the best Yankee greats in some stats. Probably one of the best clutch players in the post season. I agree with some comments in your post, but you are way off on your Jeter comments....
Also, calm down on Alex, since he leads both leagues in RBI's...not much more to say on that.

A-Rod's slowing down alraight- 3 hr's last night and now leads the AL in RBI. Oh, and the Yanks have the best record in the Majors...time for a do-over? Stop being silly.
