09:58 AM ET 08.14 | he Dexter Ransom saga ended Friday with news that will surely disappoint many Arizona Wildcats fans. The highly touted junior college transfer will play elsewhere this fall. Ransom, a wide receiver from Blinn College in Brenham, Texas, had been battling academic issues all summer. Ransom said he was cleared this week, only to be told by the UA's compliance office that the program had filled its scholarship allotment for the 2010 recruiting class.

SEC coaches chuckled when they read this.

Dexter Ransom - New starter for the USC Trojans.

"Hey Dexter, do you need a car, cash or flat screen tv?" We will give it to you.

LOL.

Or this ...

Dexter Ransom - New starter for the Mississippi Rebels. "Hey Dexter, you can room with Jeremiah Masoli. Do you need a laptop? Jeremiah can get it for you"

Could Stoops have told someone else they're out so this kid could get a scholarship? If so, I like the show of class by U of A. Tired of stories of kids getting jobbed for the new guy.

Tough loss for you guys. He had Gresham like athleticism and match-up problems. Losing him and Shipley has to hurt your new QB.

I've heard a rumor that Tennessee has some scholarships still available.

Will he move to DE?

Man, I don't know if that is how you do things in Big10 country, but we pay our players better than that. Phff - a car or a tv??? Try a house dude. We've got money.

....and yes, we'll take him.

Wow, just like FOX news. No spin zone, with a fair and balanced perspective. Are you an imposter of a u$c fan?

Tx will miss him but not nearly as much as Bob misses his brother Mike. The D has never been the same in Norman since he left. Good, even great, but still not the same.

No arguments here bro. 1st week of December 2003 was a bad week in Norman. If given truth serum, most Sooner fans would admit after a year they wanted Mike to flame out at U of A so he could come back. Nothing against Venables, but damn. U of A with their darn patience and commitment to a new coach.

The real deal - just putting a playful spin on it. No need to take ourselves so seriously here. Do you honestly think that there aren't kids playing for good ol' THE Ohio State who aren't getting something on the side? If you do....then, well....good for you I guess! The point is that we all know that this stuff happens in all major programs - some just do a much better job of not getting popped. There is no need to put up this facade and act naive towards our relative programs.

Yeah, they were probably thinking, "big deal, we have 4 or 5 of those every damn year".

Yet they allow the former UCLA recruit in, after he was booted for some student robbery...

Is that a pic of Richie Cunningham, all grown up?

Steve Zahn, seperated at birth from Stoops. I can see it.
