07:57 AM ET 08.16 | Amid reports that the Cardinals will be careful with Larry Fitzgerald's sprained MCL, he's aiming to be ready for Week 1. "They say they want to be careful with it so it doesn't linger and ... I'm ready to go for week one at St. Louis. It's frustrating because I was having my best camp as a pro." Fitzgerald said his weight was down and he was looking forward to a monster year. He still is. "I will be fine and rehabbing and getting ready as fast as possible. Don't write me off just yet."

I hope he is ready, but he better not push it.

I wouldn't ever write this kid off.

One of the few guys I'd pay to watch in the league.

Two ways to avoid contact as a wide receiver:

1. Score every time you get the ball.
2. Have a QB like Leinhart, who won't get you the ball in the first place.

He's going to have a rough first season as the starter.

That is the understatement of the day.

Hes exactly what you want in a WR and the complete opposite of what TO and Chad Johnson represent.

TO and 85 shouldn't be lumped together. TO is a loudmouth who doesn't produce. Ocho is a loudmouth who does produce.

Fitzy is not a loudmouth, but he does produce, or at least he did with Warner behind center. I'm afraid that he's going to spend the next few years playing out the string for a mediocre team, though.

Very astute observation...

He'll be ready...and Leinart should be able to prove himself to be the right man for the job. It may take a couple weeks, but he'll do it. We'll just 'have to wait & see', but I think he will....and a healthy Fitz is key to that maturation taking place.

Better take it easy Larry, and let that MCL heal ... If not you will be hearing that knee crack again on one of those quick passes from Leinhart; And you will be out again Rehabing for the Cardinals 2011 Season Opener

Actually, Leinart is the one who got Fitzgerld hurt. The guy really hung Fitz out to dry with that ugly pass.

Amen to that, Otis. He's one of those receivers it's fun to watch from the nosebleed seats, where you can really see him play with the corners.
