08:36 AM ET 08.16 | In a rout, the offense took it to the defense in Alabama's weekend scrimmage. By all accounts, it ran roughshod over a rebuilding, banged-up defense during the preseason's first closed scrimmage Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Alabama's top three quarterbacks combined for 698 yards and nine touchdowns on 52-of-69 passing, taking advantage of an inexperienced secondary that was also hampered by a string of injuries during the afternoon. Starting quarterback Greg McElroy was 26-of-33 for 360 yards and six touchdowns, according to statistics released by UA sports information.

While I would enjoy seeing PSU beat 'Bama, I think you may be waiting for a while. Just sayin'...

This is absurd. Their defense is going to be dominant. It's a bunch of 5*'s destined for the NFL. They don't need experience. They just have to walk onto the field in those crimson jerseys. God himself takes care of the rest.

Besides, there's not a defense in the NFL that can slow the greatness that is GMac.

Exactly.. If a Nick Saban cant slow down the 2nd coming of Dan Marino.. We are all doomed.. 4 titles in 2 years.. wtf!!

JoePa bests them and they still win three titles this year.

You guys have it all wrong. This was a mind game by Saban. The Bammers will tell you all about it soon enough.

I was just thinking how overjoyed I would be to see another article about Alabama and all the guys who think they're funny, lol.

Nope, just Florida last year, heh heh.

Have you ever heard that saying about a blind squirrel?

I know that he doesn't make dumb mistakes like stopping on a QB keeper when he knows a 300 pound DL is coming from his blindside. :)

I think we have been re-hashing this for the past 5 months... YES Alabama will win the NC in 2010... I can't wait for the 2011 season... wide open...

I'll never say that. That's what you call arrogance and hubris. But, I'll say we have as good a chance as anyone, and more than most.

No you're wrong. Bama has already claimed that one too. Stay with the program buddy.

Since JRM hasn't visited yet, I'll pitch in with, "Please, don't feed the trolls."

The poster of #2 is so full of #2 that one needs to avoid acknowledging its presence. "To be shunned" comes to mind...

Nevermind. This thing is so nitpicky, one day it works and the next day it doesn't.

Isn't Hubris a Mediterranean dish? Sort of like couscous?

Joe get's the first gold star of the day for his use of "hubris." Way to go, Joe!

Not many defenses will stop the Bama offense but I think they will have to win some 41-38 games this year if they are going to repeat.

Coach Saban has an automatic door opener, when a player walks into his office the door mysteriously closes behind them. Heh heh heh, sorry to interrupt, but i just saw this on the news, funny.

You're thinking of "hamina hamina hamina..." That's Finnish, not Mediteranean.
