08:12 AM ET 08.19 | With Eli Manning officially out Saturday vs. the Steelers and backup Jim Sorgi possibly also missing the game, the Giants are in a bind the likes of which Tom Coughlin has "never" been through. Rhett Bomar, in fact, was forced to take every practice snap and make every practice throw Wednesday afternoon. ... But help could be on the way. The Giants summoned former Holy Cross quarterback Dominic Randolph to Albany for a workout, according to a league source. According to his agent, Sean Stellato, the Giants offered him a contract and he was expected to sign it last night.

Go find Quincy Carter. Oh wait...he's got pending drug charges.

Missed Jeff Garcia by one day.

Ahh, who cares. It's pre-season. Now, if this were the proposed "enhanced schedule," then this would be the last pre-season game, and maybe they should worry.

Jeff Garcia is signing in the UFL. Meanwhile, NFL teams are signing Holy Cross QBs that nobody has ever heard of. I don't get it.

That's OK ... the Giants signed a QB from Moorehead State in 1979 that nobody had ever heard of, and that turned out OK ...

Jeff George has been waiting in the lobby since 6 AM. 6 AM Tuesday. He's ready for anything. He brought his helmet AND his vinyl siding samples.

Maybe Plaxico could get out on a three-week work-release program.

I didn't even know that Jeff George was still alive.

Or at the very least he might know some guys who have played qb, that is if they are scheduled for release in the next week.

Is he wearing his Century 21 jacket, too?
