08:24 AM ET 08.19 | Ozzie Guillen, a day after a Chicago report dredged up the "souring relationship" between the manager and GM Ken Williams, took some 13 minutes to talk about letting Jim Thome go. "For all those people there saying it was my fault about Jim Thome, yes it's my fault," Guillen said Wednesday during a 13-minute pre-game interview devoted mostly to Thome's departure last August and the decision not to re-sign him. "If those people don't like that, (bleep) them." ... "Listen, I don't make that decision, we made that decision. It was hard for me to do this. A lot of people in Chicago talk about Jim Thome. How about J.D.? I think Jermaine Dye did more stuff for the Chicago White Sox than Jim Thome did, with all my respect to Jimbo."

For awhile now I've thought this guy was alright. I'm definitely one to speak my mind and not hold my tongue, but for the love of God, I'm starting to get tired of hearing him run his mouth every other day. Just shutup already. Especially if you're going to start knocking on Thome...****.

Sometime you wonder whether Ozzie is the manager of the White Sox or the host of Saturday Night Live. His rants are getting tiresome.

From a die hard Twins fan: Thank you, Ozzie.

No I don't. If you start taking shots at a future HOF'er, that doesn't say much about you. Ozzie seems to be talking a great deal lately... shouldn't he be concentrating on getting into the playoffs?

All of you keep in mind that we are not there to read the Chicago papers everyday... I'm sure some beat writer is continually pounding on the subjects that he keeps ranting about. The GM probably is of no help because of their quarrel, so he probably shows it in Guillen's face everyday.

Usually when people starting spouting off at the mouth, it is because they have reached the point of exhaustion or exasperation. An "Enough of this ship..." kind of mindset, if you will.

Ozzie is a clown. He should come to the mound wearing clown shoes. He should enter the game from the bullpen in a little clown car. He is a clown and you know how a majority of people feel about clowns. The most famous clown in the world that came from Chicago used to be Bozo. It is now Ozzie. Did I mention that he is a clown.

I love Ozzie, as a player and a manager. The guy was always honest and accountable... what else can you ask for?

This is just another case of the media stirring up **** when it's not there to make a story.

If you read, or watch, the entire interview he spends a good five minutes gushing over how much he loves Jim Thome. He even says, "I wish I hated him, but I love that guy and he knows it," and then goes on to talk about why he got rid of Thome(he thought they were better off with a platoon at DH with the glut of older players that Ken Williams seems to be in love with because they had good years 10 years ago that they had) and how he sat down with Thome and discussed it with him and how because of their mutual love and respect Thome agree'd(he had no trade rights) to be traded to the Dodgers that year so the White Sox could get something back for him before he became a free agent.

the giants need to take vacation very fast, can't hit can't pitch, just can't do nothing right!!!!!!!

August 19, 2010  12:06 PM ET

And of course the, "Jermaine Dye did more for the White Sox than Thome ever did!" comment was taken way out of context because the sports media's job is pretty much to stir up **** where ever possible.

He was making a point that fans and the media only bring it up now because Thome hit a walk off against the Sox the other day and the Twins are ahead of them in the standings. And that if JD was still playing baseball and had done the same they'd be asking him about letting JD go.

Jim Thome isn't walking through that door, Carlton Fisk isn't walking through that door...time for a group hug.
