08:15 AM ET 08.20 | While Class AAA Tacoma struggles, the Mariners are shining. Heading into Friday night's series opener against the New York Yankees, 14 of the 25 players on the Mariners roster will have spent time at Tacoma this season for reasons other than injury rehabilitation. Couple that with the importing of Tacoma manager Daren Brown to replace Don Wakamatsu, along with the additions of other minor-league coaches, and the Mariners' clubhouse should indeed feel like home to the vast majority of players.

Minor League Team: Major League Ticket Price. Isn't there some law about over charging?

They've won their last 4 series with their minor leaguers. What does that tell you about the state of MLB this year?

August 20, 2010  12:09 PM ET

They play the Yankees this weekend. They'll get sent home with their tails tucked between their young minor league legs

I believe it says more about the game itself than the state of MLB.

To think... Some folks were talking seriously about the Mariners before the season Started...

I just checked their hitting stats and they are horrible...

Figgins is a waste, Lopez is having a miserable season. They are counting on low percentage guys like Kotchman & Branyan...

They still have Felix and Guti??rrez - but time is running out on Ichiro...

The over charging has been taking place throughout Major League Baseball, just not in Seattle

I too have been surprised at how Seattle has down spiraled since the season opened; Thought the Mariners were on the verge of being a decent team this season... Replacing Wakamatsu with Daren Brown who seems to be getting things turned around a little. It will be interesting to see what the Mariner's do with their current roster the rest of the season, and with those players clearing waivers; If any are picked up by contending playoff teams. And what happens to Daren Brown after the season. Is Seattle Bobby Valentine's new Managerial job?

Will this Tacoma Mariners New York Yankees weekend series be favorable for Mariners. The "Weekend Sweep" of the Yankees could signal the begaining of Great things for the Seattle franchise!!

Hernandez pitches Mariners past Yankees 6-0, in Game 1... Two more Tacoma Mariner Ws; And we'll call it a SWEEP!!

I think it's pretty likely. He seems very interested. His main competition being Joey Cora, I think Bobby would be the logical choice on experience points alone. Plus -- and this is the big reason -- the Mariners need to show they mean business, and I mean fast. Patience is waning.

The state of the Seattle Mariners franchise over the past several years and expecially before the firing of Don Wakamatsu as Manager; seemed to be in a constent downward spiral to destruction.

Although Daren Brown seems to be doing an excellent managerial job for the Mariners, currentlly, as Wakamatsu's replacent... The logical possibility would be Bobby Valentine being named Manager of the Mariners before the start of next season. This would a perfect fit-- Seattle gets a veteran and high-profile manager who can get the Mariner Organization completly turned around and ride of the existing turmoil.
For Valentine returning to the state of Washington and his PCL roots with the Spokane Indians; where Bobby V led Spokane to the PCL Championship in 1970 would be a homecoming of sorts.
Bobby Valentine maybe the BEST left fit as Manager for the Seattle Mariners, to get the Mariner Organization completly turned around and ride of the current Turmoilst.

Valentine then could hire/keep Daren Brown on as his Bench Coach. To give Brown a better chance of succeeding Valentine when that times comes...
Don't expect Bobby Valentine to turn down a chance of managing the Dodgers; If and when it comes open.
