08:16 AM ET 08.20 | Brad Hawpe's empty locker told the story in Denver. The Rockies are hanging on by a thread of relevance, interest in the team shifting slightly toward the future. That focus grew sharper after another hollow performance at Dodger Stadium in a 2-0 loss. "What are you going to do when you only get two hits?" Rockies manager Jim Tracy said. "I have seen this before. It's a reoccurring theme, and it's disappointing." ... The Rockies begin a three- game series tonight in Arizona, likely needing a sweep to claw their way back into the playoff picture.

I find Hawpe's release puzzling... yeah, he has had a terrible year, but did he really go the way of players like Garret Atkins? Someone's gonna take a bet on him...

What happened to them? Not all their pitchers are named "Ubaldo", take him and Tulowitzki off the team and you have the Royals..........

Brad Hawpe got cought up in the Rockies-- too many young Outfielder game-- resulting in his exit out of Colorado. Many of the teams still in playoff contention can use another player like Hawpe; He'll get picked up soon... Probally by the Angels or Rangers

Anyone flat out cut and not traded will only draw interest because the player doesn't cost anything. All you have to do is pick up one month of a prorated minimum salary contract. No risk, limited odds on getting any reward.

Currently Brad Hawpe' s value is really that bad? Where the Rockies couldn't atleast get some prospects or someone if they'd used Hawpe in a trade. A few weeks ago there was interest from a few teams for him.... Did not realize his production was that off this year
