09:47 AM ET 08.21 | Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Terrell Owens is embracing his new NFL city, which is similar to what happened last year with average results with the Buffalo Bills. He sent an open letter to fans through the Cincinnati Enquirer where he expressed gratitude to the city and fans and made the point that he won't settle for anything less than a playoff appearance. He also said he's matured.

Matured? Maybe he should say humbled. Getting dumped by the Cowboys for Roy Williams, going to the Bills, and then having nobody make a substantive move until the Bengals did can have that effect. Hey, I hope he changes his acidic attitude and does well.

I believe he has matured, as witnessed by him not throwing his QB under the bus in BUFF last year. It may be a case of too little too late though, regardless of whether or not he is the perfect role model and citizen in CIN, his reputation will forever haunt him from his previous excapades.
