Why Stars sale is plodding along

10:31 AM ET 08.21 | I talked to a source close to the Stars sale today, and he said that the negotiations are going at a methodical pace, and that he does not expect a sale any time soon. He said there are still two primary bidders but would not name them (they are believed to be Tom Gaglardi and Bill Gallacher), and said that they still are seeking additional bidders. News Corp. is out, and in an e-mail I sent to Mark Cuban, he declined comment on any talk of the Stars sale, so I'm not sure who could be getting in on the bidding. I think Gaglardi and Gallacher are the primary bidders and both are being cautious about establishing what they believe might be a fair price for the Stars.

Sometimes the haggling over that garage sale junk takes a while.

"I think Gaglardi and Gallacher are the primary bidders"

I have a suggestion: Put your resources to gether and make them the Dallas Gallaglardis. Or the Dallas Gaglachers.

I'm surprised there is no Kaberle T&R about his dad saying he wants out.

You might want to wait a few more minutes. I don't think T&R interns are for done this morning. Takes time and skill to copy and paste, you know!

Here you go Argos.

According to the Toronto Sun, Tomas Kaberle's father, Frantisek Sr., has told a Czech hockey magazine he doesn't believe his son will play for the Maple Leafs for the entire 2010-11 NHL season, despite the fact he has a no-trade clause.

"I think that during the course of the year he will be traded to another club," Kaberle Sr., told Hokej. "There is only one chance for Toronto to get something back in return for Tomas now."

Kaberle Sr., doesn't believe his son will sign a new contract with the team when his current deal expires after this season, naming coach Ron Wilson as one reason why.

Stupid Kaberle Sr., he is destroying Tomas' value.

Maybe Kaberle Sr. wants junior to come home and take over the family shoe repair shop.

He's not going to waive his no-trade ,he's about to do to BB & RW what they were tring to do to him leaving a leaky ship,he will wait for UFA status in July 2011 .Good job BB

August 21, 2010  12:45 PM ET

I'm sure the reason is that prospective buyers are disappointed that Modano is no longer with the club...Here's hoping someone like Cuban ends up the owner.

Nice! Argos is right! His Daddy is bringing down his value, and the NHL hates fathers who always feel that they know best. Ask Booby "the toothless wonder" Clarke about Lindros, and his oh so professional father!

I thought that was Mommy dearest Bonnie

I have to say that I'm tired about news of the sale of teams to other owners. This would be news if the actual team was moving as well(not that I want Dallas moved), and that kind of news will get the hearts of all "TRUE" hockey fans hearts pounding!!!!!
