The Heat has extended a five-year, $18.3 million offer sheet to Bucks restricted free agent guard Charlie Bell, who has reportedly told the Bucks he is not interested in returning to Milwaukee this season. Because Bell is restricted, the Bucks can retain the services of the 6-foot-3 combination guard by matching the Heat's offer sheet.

Actually, if Shaq actually plays this season, Charlie Bell could have a career year.

September 18, 2007  11:54 AM ET

at least he's under 35

September 18, 2007  12:53 PM ET

Well I guess the Heat just bailed him out from going to Greece.

He's decent and he's cheap I like him!!!

September 18, 2007  01:23 PM ET

Shaq will be single! He'll play and he'll be in good shape!

is the the guy from boston college?what kind of stats did he have last yr with the bucks?

September 18, 2007  03:50 PM ET

I'll be surprised if heat are any higher than 7th seed if they can even make the playoffs

September 18, 2007  06:42 PM ET

He played for Michigan State and was on the team that beat my team in their way to the championship.

I have a lot of hatorade for this guy, but he is going to the heat. So I am gonna swallow this one and wish him luck.

Bell wld be a perfect fit in Miami......

September 18, 2007  08:31 PM ET

is he a point or shooting guard?

September 18, 2007  09:59 PM ET

Good call tee-dub maybe shaq will lay off the ice cream now since he wants to attract the opposite sex. I think this is the best move this off-season by the heat at least bell isn't a year or two away from retirement.

September 19, 2007  03:27 AM ET

He's a combo guard. Had 13-3.5-3.5 with 1 three and a steal for the Bucks last season. Good defender who can nail the outside shot - so go fit for Miami.

Surely the heat can make some reasonable noise (4th or 5th) seed in the east with wade alone, look at bron and the cavs
