A week after ratting out the Patriots for illegal spying tactics, the Jets were accused yesterday of cheating by Ravens coach Brian Billick. Billick, speaking to reporters, said the Jets' defense yelled out signals in an effort to throw off the Ravens' cadence. Billick believes it led to three illegal-procedure penalties on the Ravens, who won, 20-13.

Thats all......here we go. Let the cheating finger pointing begin...

Do you think that there might be some unwritten rule that coaches don't snitch on one another and that Billick is paying back Mangini?

JETS can't even win when they cheat
HAHAHAHA

lol. that's actually funny.

Why is this story a side note, Why not front page news, The pats story was everywhere and this, same old story just like the Dolphins last year. For all of you that have said cheating is cheating where is your outrage here....

Maybe it's just me, but doesn't the defense yell out calls and audibles all the time? So what, they called them out louder this time, and it caused your offense to lose their concentration and get a penalty??? Isn't that the same thing as using a hard count to try and pull the defense offsides??? I suppose next week another team will cheat because they had their fans cheer louder when the other team was on offense. This guy can be serious!

At_Home@Wrigley... actually it's a penalty to yell out things in an effort to cause the offense to move.. it's supposed to be a point of emphasis this year.. so yes he has a right to be upset

September 18, 2007  08:13 AM ET

This is sad Billick. This is the NFL, not golf. The defense doesn't have to sit there and be quiet while the offense is lined up.

"I suppose next week another team will cheat because they had their fans cheer louder when the other team was on offense"

It's sad to say, but his has already happened. It was common in the old Kingdome for the refs to tell the fans to quite down because the opposing offense couldn't hear the snap counts, though no one called it cheating.

And wasn't some team accused of piping in the cheers through their PA system?

September 18, 2007  08:29 AM ET

I am pretty sure it is against the rules for a defense to mimic a snap count. Problem is that if the refs did not call this subjective penalty then Billick might as well be whining about other non-calls like holding or interference.

September 18, 2007  08:35 AM ET

Typical Billick, he just can't keep his catfish sized mouth shut.

My sister cheats at candyland....

September 18, 2007  08:35 AM ET

Your team won and you're still whining. Grow up Billick.

Also, could Mangini be like his protege?

September 18, 2007  08:51 AM ET

Well looks like the Jets might have been cheating too

September 18, 2007  08:59 AM ET

Exactly texex. If this was happening the Ravens should have said something to the refs. Since nothing was called it is exactly the same as whining about a no-call on a hold.

September 18, 2007  09:20 AM ET

well Billick is correct though.

you cannot call out cadences/simulated snaps in the NFL and it is clearly stated in the rules. so either remove the rule form the book or enforce it.

you cannot just ignore it.

but as someone mentioned, why not bring it to the ref's attention? maybe he did but needed some evidence? NFL CSI

could be on the Fall TV line up this year!!

September 18, 2007  09:21 AM ET

actually it would make more sense to bring up the cheating after you win then after you lose doesn't it?

September 18, 2007  09:35 AM ET

Where did Mangenius learn this?

September 18, 2007  09:36 AM ET

The other team had more Gatorade then we did. They cheated because they were more hydrated. Call Goodell!
