What can the Jets expect of LT?

08:18 AM ET 08.23 | While preseason may not count, there are times it does matter. The second game of the rest of LaDainian Tomlinson's career began with a 20-yard burst. The Jets were pinned deep, with a third-and-13 at their five, when Tomlinson took a handoff from quarterback Mark Sanchez, sprinted up the middle and cut left for a first down at the 25. It was only a preseason game. The results did not count. But they mattered because that run sent a message that there was something left in Tomlinson's 31-year-old legs after nine mostly stellar seasons and 12,490 yards with the San Diego Chargers.

A lot

That signing will turn out to be the most irrelevant thing the Jets did all off-season. Now he will get to cry twice (at least) during the season since he plays the Pats.

a little dramatic there, no?

Wait... LT reminds you of Curtis Martin? Curtis never quit and never cried. I see no connection.

Very dramatic.

I guess I'm the lone voice out there that thinks LT is going to be a big contributor this year.

He had better be - I'm still not completely sold on the young Sanchez.

August 23, 2010  08:58 AM ET

RBs over 30 rarely have good season. Expect him to be a goal line specialist. 12-14 TD on 100-110 carries and around 360 yds should be a proper expectation for LT this year.

Don't forget ego, he might still have some of that left.

Why? He looks pretty good for a second year QB.

Meh...

I don't know, FJM - there is something that just doesn't register with me and I can't put my finger on it.

I've been wrong plenty before (see Flacco, J.) so what do I know - but...

he was a bottom dweller in the qb ratings last year. add that to the traditional sophmore slump and I see nothing speical other a pretty face.

He's become a cancer very quickly on that team.

they play the sound of a his heart beating and he's talking about the importance of keeping your heart strong, but he's talking specifically to women and it just comes off as swarmy.
