Moves not paying off for Rangers

08:39 AM ET 08.23 | Texas, returning from a 2-5 road trip, are finding how difficult it is to replace All-Stars, and that their headlining pitcher may need a break. [Cliff Lee] is not Superman, and manager Ron Washington is going to have to scale back accordingly. Lee has proven that he can pitch eight innings, even with only a one-run pillow for support. But why was he still on the mound in Baltimore in the sixth inning Saturday, having given up four home runs, while clearly not having his best stuff? If the Rangers can't afford to give Lee a day off, Washington needs to be vigilant about giving the lefty at least parts of a day off. After all, as much as they think they need [Ian] Kinsler, [Nelson] Cruz and Josh Hamilton for any October games, they doubly need Cliff Lee.

They don't just double need him they, they need him like a fat kid needs cake. But you don't want to feed the fat kid to much cake then he will be too full for ice cream.

seems the Nolan plan for extra innings should be paired back when you are talking about a monetarily valuable all star...

i think the manager said that cliff lee refuse to give the ball back to the reliever pitcher!!!!

the rangers need to show their players who is in charge of this team, the manager should pull the pitching whenever he has given more than 5 runs, i had seen that the managers will allow their starters to keep pitching until they reach certain amount of pitching count, by this time the pitcher has give 9 to 12 runs on 4 innings!

As a manager you have to realize when your pitchers don't have their best stuff.
