Heisman talk begins with Ingram?

08:50 AM ET 08.23 | Does Alabama's Mark Ingram open the season with the best shot at the Heisman Trophy? Things are changing in the Heisman race. The past three recipients have been sophomores. Last season, a defensive tackle was a legitimate candidate. The time for another two-time recipient may be drawing near. A big game against Penn State in September could mean Ingram will join Griffin as a two-time winner.

No. Like all things pre-season, AA Team, Polls, etc..., its just retawded to go there. Let the season play out some first.

Agreed. Also I doubt he will have enough carries to get the yards because of Richardson.

that's right... gotta play first.... I can hardly wait...

How come 'Bama can win 3-4 NCs in one year but only one Heisman?

you are right...we should go ahead and give the pre-season one to Ingram and then vote on the post-season one....

actually Star Jackson is headed for a Heisman season...Lowry's, Mrs. dash, McCormicks..

QUOTE(#5):

Agreed.. TR will steal some carries and I think most teams will make Bama throw the ball more

I think that many of the teams Bama faces are going to be disappointed that G-Mac can throw the ball very well. My bigger concern is consistency out of the receivers. JJ has not shown it. He has flashes of brilliance and then drops the easy ones. I hope he corrects that this year.

The truth is he may not even be the best running back on his own team....

Chris Huston, publisher of HeismanPundit.com, just now said that Mark Ingram will not win the Heisman Trophy for 2010 (repeat twice)."I'm not saying he can't finish second," Huston said of Ingram, "I'm just saying he won't win."Votors are finicky. They know there's only been one two-time winner. They will make that threshold very high."Huston acknowledges that it is possible for a second player to win a second Heisman."But the odds are the same as an asteroid hitting the Earth," he said. "We know it can happen, but is it likely? No."Huston's top five preseason Heisman candidates:1) Terrell Pryor, QB,Ohio State2) Jacory Harris, QB, Miami3) Christian Ponder, QB, Florida State4) Ryan Harris, RB, Virginia Tech5) John Clay, RB, Wisconsin<Take this with however many grains of salt you wish>.

True...i think there will be a 3-way tie between Ingram, Rchardson & Lacy. 1st trifecta ever. *puts on my Nick Saban is True Blood* t-shirt

He should have entered the Draft when he had the chance, now he has to fufill the duties for carring Alabama on his sholders, and staying healthy for the whole season.
