09:49 AM ET 08.23 | Strong-armed Taylor Potts will get the first crack at running Tommy Tuberville's offense. "We have a very talented group of quarterbacks and are excited about every one of them," Tuberville said in a statement. "The competition during camp between Taylor and Steven has been outstanding, but at the end of the day we can only have one starter." The 6-foot-5 Potts, who was widely viewed as the most pro-ready quarterback of the Mike Leach era when he was recruited, threw for 3,440 yards and 22 touchdowns last season in 10 starts. ... Tuberville has said he wanted to have an established starter and avoid a two-quarterback system. On Sunday, he indicated the competition would continue during the season.

First crack...he's gonna need it to listen to Tuberville do an interview...

Yea..guess he wears Auburn gear to TT practices as well..lol

Potts is going to thrive in TT's offense. Surely with all the resources and photogs running around shooting for SI they could manage a shot of this guy with his new team's logo on.

QUOTE(#5):

At least Tuberville has a clearer agenda than Rich Rod and Spurrier.

Potts has the tendency to stand in the backfield like a statue, throw off his back foot and then get rocked. He will have another concussion before the season is over.

So your saying eventually he will get drafted by the Jaguars & change his name to Potts-Leftwich and hand off to Jones-Drew? nice...

QUOTE(#7):

If you look at their schedule, it's pretty soft. Likely losses to the 'Horns and Zero U, three "who the hell knows" games - Okie Lite, Mizzou, College Station sheep molesters. Everyone else on their schedule should be an easy win. They should end up 8-4, maybe 9-3.

For some reason u r thinking they wont be soft also?..sorta like gay kids having a rain fight on unicorns next to a rainbow....

QUOTE(#18):

OMG!! I left out the juggernaut Colorado. After much contemplation (4.3 microseconds), I'm putting that one in the "probable win" category. Colorado might be a probable win for a half dozen or so Texas HS's.SI thinks Tech will go 4-4 conference, 8-4 overall. So they think Tech loses two of the three games to OSU, Baylor and A&M, with a win over Houston.

Tuberville is an awful coach & an even worse recruiter. He was at Auburn while Bama was on suspension..he had the entire region to himself & his best players were Ronnie Brown, Jason Campbell and Carlos Rogers? smh. & TT is in heavy in-state competiton? No way he manages to "build' anything other than prospective places for his next coaching gig.
