08:03 AM ET 08.24 | Dez Bryant, who ran and cut for the first time since July 30 and said he felt fine, is still waiting to be cleared for takeoff. "I know I'll be practicing sooner or later," the Cowboys first-round pick said. When? A return to practice hasn't been set. But Bryant has been ruled out of this week's game with Houston and it's unlikely he'll play against Miami, even though he will lobby to do so if he's made progress. ... "Every day it feels a lot better," Bryant said. That doesn't mean he hasn't wrestled with emotions over not being able to get back on the field sooner. "I don't want to get into it, but I got into that [Monday]," said Bryant, who had a long talk with owner Jerry Jones. "I had to calm myself down."

Shouldn't Jones use any advice he has to give on a certain other receiver who shall remain nameless?

Yeah. The rest of us would have wanted to strangle him, too.

Jerry is thinking that if Dez re-injures himself he will really be stuck with putting Roy Williams on the field even more when the games count. And really...who the **** wants that?

Good point. I would if Jerry is counting down the days that Roy is on the team?

Good answer. LOL!! The way the offense has been playing it might not matter who gets on the field. 3 games...1 Td by the first team. Lots of momentum right there. NOT!

"I had to calm myself down."

Um ... was he REALLY thinking of assaulting the guy who's paid him millions of dollars?

The next Cowboys game I watch live will be the one Dez plays in.

September 12.

Until then, it's Super Bowl games on the DVD player, brothers!

That Dez is certainly a mature and sensible inflkuence on the 'Boys. maybe we could ask him to talk to Fat Albert and calm him down?

August 24, 2010  10:52 AM ET

Bryant reminds me of that kid Williams from USC a few years ago that flamed out. I hope his game lives up to the hype. Except against the Eagles....

Don't think this guy is that dumb to bite the hand that feeds him millions of dollars. Unless that person is Fat Albert and will eat just about anything.
