Martz avoiding 'I' word chat with Cutler

08:07 AM ET 08.25 | Though Jay Cutler is on the record saying he will, indeed, throw some interceptions in 2010, Mike Martz doesn't want to talk about it. You'd think it would be a major point of emphasis, especially after Cutler threw a league-high 26 interceptions last year. Instead, the man most responsible for Cutler taking better care of the football has yet to talk to his quarterback about decision-making. "I don't see any reason to," the Bears' offensive coordinator said. ... "If he's executing the way he should be, why would we coach caution into him and make him deliberate about a play? One of the great things about him is his aggressiveness and his confidence in making tight throws. I'm not going to try to back him off that."

I don't blame him. "Interception" is an awfully long word.

The word is Interception.

I thought he was refraining from calling Cutler an idiot.

I cannot stand Cutler. Never have since his college days, never will.

(Photo caption.)"...Oh man Jay, did you see that picture of Rex on fan nation yesterday? what a fat pig!" Cutler sighs, "Ah, Mike...um.. your about two whoppers away from looking like Rex." Martz now miffed. "Your benched, we're going to play a QB that, has talent."

It must make Lovie so warm inside to know a Martz offense takes years to learn, and ball protection is not mentioned because when you learn the offense it is not an issue.

iTunes? iPod? iPhone? iPad?

Oh, it's iPick!

August 25, 2010  08:30 AM ET

Jay will one day grow up and be a pretty good QB.

August 25, 2010  08:36 AM ET

No point in avoiding the obvious, Cutler himself mentioned the word not that long ago.

That's the new Cutler app for the iPhone, even when Bears fans can't watch the games, they can always keep track of the multiple INTs he throws in real time.

That in itself is bad news.

Are we flashing forward to his days in the UFL or the Arena League?

Lovie or Jerry should have fired last year. or both of them. I wasn't really that picky.

Bears fans won't truly be happy until Jerry is canned. That would be an excellent holiday season gift.

I guess they'll be seeing a lot of L's later....

That's the other word they want to avoid, the "L" word.
