08:10 AM ET 08.27 | Evan Turner didn't have a great summer league showing, but new Sixers president Rod Thorn isn't panicking. "Go back a year, when Jrue Holiday, who has turned out to be a very good player, had a struggling summer. Evan wasn't in tiptop shape, but when you look at most of these kids, there's a period of adjustment. They're playing against better players, usually more experienced players. They're playing against men. I don't take a lot from the summer. ... He can pass, he's a team player, he has great size and he can rebound. He does a lot of things that help you win. He's an improving shooter, has a great work ethic. I think he's going to be a very good player."

I don't believe in the potential crap. I've seen so many come and go with no fanfare. To me you suck until y've proven yourself in the league. Add his poor summer league showing and you know what y're dealing with... he said she said... what have you done for me lately Turner?

I dunno... they need to keep Brand. Post players are rare these days so having an injury prone post player is better than having none at all. I agree Eddy Curry took that notion too far and now he's become a wasteland. I bet he'll fake some injury in training camp to avoid being suspended without pay.

Brand got what he wanted. A big, fat contract. Although I am not a Clipper fan, I am glad he is doing poorly in Philly.

I ran into some people in Philly that hang with a few NBA players. I'm told the word on the street is, he's soft and has no game. This is coming from his own teammates

He won all of the major college awards and was the best player during March Madness. That says alot... Wall or anybody else is no more of a lock than Turner.

brand's problem in philly has been that he just can't finish. maybe it's that he wasn't recovered from the injuries, maybe it was his weight, but he looks like he lost a step... hopefully, he found it this offseason (though i'm not holding my breath).

yeah... it's the POINT GUARD that's holding iguodala down! hahahahahaha^100!
iguodala is what he has shown us that he is, a jack of all trades, master of none. i like having him on my team, but let's get over acting like he's going to suddenly be in the running for mvp. he's an incredibly athletic player who makes questionable decisions with the ball, can't shoot, and pouts alot.
i have no doubts that last season was EXTREMELY painful for the players. jordan jerked their minutes and showed himself to be MONUMENTALLY incompetent as a head coach. this was a team that had made the playoffs the previous two seasons, things were supposedly looking up (depending on your take on andre miller leaving), and last season they fell off of a cliff.
they should be back to fighting for a low playoff seed this season.
